With the World Series grabbing its best ratings since 2004, and a Bret Favre to Green Bay fueled football overrun in Sunday primetime, it was inevitable that Fox would deliver a giant ratings beatdown to the competition in the sixth week of the primetime season ending November 1, 2009. Fox averaged twice the adults 18-49 rating of all but ABC for the week.
Anyone wondering how woefully NBC is likely to do post-football season can take a look at last week’s results (since there was no Sunday Night Football), but don’t look too closely, they’re gruesome. Note that CBS had many and the CW a few shows in repeats during the week.
Note that the chart includes RATINGS not VIEWERSHIP as was typical in our weekly network ratings posts prior to July, 2009.

Each rating point is a percentage of the US TV population in that demographic group and equals: 2.90 million viewers, 1.32 million adults 18-49, 0.68 million adults 18-34 and 1.24 million adults 25-54.
Sadly, we will no longer be having a Tiny Network Showdown! since MyNetworkTV ratings averages are not being reported by Nielsen, since they are no longer classed as a network but are now a “programming service”.
