This still doesnt help Eastwick but I’m confident ABC will run all episodes.

  2. Tom

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. By my calendar, unless ABC airs new episodes in the December 23rd/30th dead zone, the show would be airing episodes all the way through the third Wednesday of January – and ABC will likely be bringing their “Lost schedule” online by then.

In other words, we have to ask which is likelier: That ABC continues their practice of last year, the zero rated summer burnoff, or burns them off in late December. I suppose it depends on how much Christmas special inventory (including any Bowl games) ABC has sitting around.

  3. Okay, while I may not like Eastwick, I love Jamie Ray Newman, and that picture of her is gorgeous.

  4. forg

If Eastwick will be canceled soon, I think it will still produce 13 episodes and probably the last episodes will be burned off in the summer ala Pushing Daisie,Eli Stone and DSM 9 (*sniff*)

  5. Dan

Tom – ABC could wait until Feb to bring Lost back. We dont know that it will be airing at 10pm Wednesdays it could go to 9pm Tuesdays. ABC could let Eastwick burn off through the last of December if they really want to end it quickly.

Forg – I think all 13 episodes may already be produced or in the process. Anyway, ABC never cuts the episode order unless a show was pulled early and its November so its possible ABC could air all 13 now or return the series next summer a la Daisies, Stone and Money.

Atleast 11 Eastwick will air by December 16, leaving 2 episodes, but with only 2 left ABC may as well just end the series instead of repeats. The show has the 23rd, 30th and 6th with a special likely on the 23rd, ABC could easily finish the show on the 30th and 6th. I dont see Eastwick being pulled since its not likely to have a significant drop in viewers. Forgotten may not be as lucky since when Dance leaves and Scrubs/Ted returns, forgotten can dip to a series low.

    I would rather watch Eastwick.

  7. forg

The producers should prepare a wrap up for Eastwick for the fans’ sake.
The Janet Jackson interview might pull good ratings, I guess around 2 – 2.5 demo

  8. Nightstar

Okay, how about a new contest — Higher/Lower… Eastwick ratings. Higher or lower than Janet Jackson? ;-)

And, yes, that is a lovely picture of Jamie Ray Newman.

  9. Dan

forg – Its no doubt Janet Jackson will do better. Hopefully Eastwick’s producers prepared a finale because theres no way Eastwick will get more eps. Hopefully somehow all 13 can air.

I don’t think ABC could air all the episodes in its wednesday timeslot, ABC has too many midseason shows.

Look what happened to Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money last season.

  11. Dan

Eastwick already has scheduled airdates. If its not repeated or preempted Eastwick should wrap up on January 6. I remember Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money but Eastwick actually premiered a week earlier and was only preempted once. It has a chance just to burn off its eps. It would be pointless for ABC to return the show next summer.

  12. January 13. It’s not currently schedule to air 11/11, 11/18, or 12/23

  13. Dan

But if it airs on December 30th, it could air all 13

    Episode 1 September 23
    Episode 2 September 30
    Episode 3 October 7
    Episode 4 October 14
    Episode 5 October 21
    Episode 6 October 28
    Episode 7 November 4
    Episode 8 November 25
    Episode 9 December 2
    Episode 10 December 9
    Episode 11 December 16
    Episode 12 December 30
    Episode 13 January 6

7 episodes have aired so far and I doubt the rest of the epsiodes will get preempted.

  14. sorry, it’s not airing 12/30 either. left that one off. It is tentatively scheduled for 1/6 and 1/13 though.

Have no desire to watch Janet; am loving Eastwick and wish ABC would promote it a little and give it a chance to grow it’s audience. It is a fun show with a little bit of mystery and engaging actors. It deserves to have a decent run as it’s barely been out of the gate so far.

  16. Dan

Robert – Its not. I wonder, what will be airing the 30th. With 11 episodes airing as of December 16, I would really think ABC would just finish up on January 6 and 13. Its just 2 more episodes and whatever ABC plans on replacing Eastwick with they can premiere on January 20. Thats my thought. Forgotten will also have 11 episodes aired by December 15, ABC may as well air out the rest.

  17. Scott R.

    I smell a burnoff coming!

  18. Dan

Its basically being burned off, except the series is just airing through its 13 episodes. ABC has not announced an order of additional eps nor of the series cancellation.

  19. AO

Whatever happens with Eastwick I continue to feel that bringing Lost back on Wednesdays, on a night now filled with comedies and a lead-in of Cougar Town, is not the wisest course.

  20. sm

lost doesn’t start until late January and it will be airing on Wednesday night as it has for most of it’s seasons. lost has a huge fanbase and airing it on a night now filled with comedies will not hurt it at all. As for eastwick, if it airs until the thirteenth then thats the week before lost is rumored to start (the 20th) which leads me to believe abc is keeping eastwick.
