  1. The Other Tony

Surprised to see Showtime not going against HBO and other programing on Sundays. Might be a good move. I feel that Showtime needs some fresh new dramas to compete.

  2. Jon

Nurse Jackie’s return is a lot sooner than expected, I guess Weeds will be paired with a new show. Showtime does need to greenlit a few more dramas though especially with The Tudors ending.

  3. Charles

Can’t wait for United States of Tara to come back! :)

  4. Kuba

    wow, great news! ;d

  5. thanks….the Tudors is what I’m looking forward to…I hear it’s their last season and I’ve loved all 3 previous ones…it’s an outstanding show.

  6. Joseph

Too bad Tara returns in March (this year premiered on january), but awesome that Jackie retuns in March too

And Call Girl in january… great, i love that show too

  7. ryan

When do the dvds come out?

  8. David

I read that the first season of “United States of Tara” is suppose to be on dvd next month. It was suppose to come out last month but they delayed it. I agree with everyone who said Showtime needs more dramas. I remember reading on this site a few weeks ago that they are going to film a pilot for a drama starring William H. Macy.

  9. Huzzah! I’m way too excited. Showtime is just too great.
I wonder when we’re going to see Weeds. Also is it the final season?

  10. Yowza! Two seasons of “Nurse Jackie” within one television year?! Could definitely boost its chances of Emmy nominations, that’s for sure. I’m thrilled though, because I adore it. I also love “United States of Tara”–but I hate Diablo Cody. I’ll put it aside, because Toni and Rosemarie are both goddesses.

  11. Also, I concur with izikavazo. Showtime is easily the best channel, imo. The network also has “Dexter” and “Weeds”, and thus it just oozes orgasmic programming.

  12. Why does Showtime need more dramas? Nurse Jackie and United States of Tara are basically 30 min long dramas. I like them both, a lot, but neither of them are remotely funny, and they don’t even pretend to try to be funny.

  13. Yeah, I would classify them as dramedies. ESPECIALLY “Nurse Jackie”, which is dark and acidic in tone, with venomous humor laced underneath the emo.

I think that’s exaggerating when saying neither are remotely funny though. Toni Collette going from one alternate personality to another can be pretty hysterical at times. But essentially, I know what you’re saying.

  14. Rebecca

Not sure why I thought United States of tara was cancelled, but great news, anyways!

  15. porky

Looking forward to the united states of tara. I didn’t think I’d like the show, but I enjoyed season one after giving it a chance.

  16. Maryann

I am very disappointed that Showtime is ending The Tudors at 4 seasons…they could have continued with his heirs taking the throne after Henry dies..Elizabeth would be several seasons alone.
