Many shows especially spin-off take a while to establish their identity, CSI: NY when it first started was dark and moody but it's developed and I believe is just as good and at times better than the parent show. (on a side note, I think almost all of USA's orriginal series are pretty amaizing, it's definantly one of the best networks out there.) So, personally it seems to have a chance to benefit USA Network in a similar way as NCIS, but still it is not a sure thing. Obviously, NCIS:LA's current ratings are excellent.
