Wanda-Sykes

Please note that the true numbers for last night will be available from Nielsen on Thursday with the rest of the late night numbers but here is some info on the premiere of The Wanda Sykes Show directly from FOX based on the metered market info from the largest (56) metered markets:

  • WANDA's premiere posted a 2.2/5 in the meters in the 11p-12am hour
  • That significantly improves upon FOX's performance last Fall with MadTV in the timeslot -- up +16% from MadTV's average meters in 4Q08 (1.9/4)
  • In addition, it beat Spike Feresten's average by 100% in the 11pm timeslot this past winter (1.1/2)

Here are a few examples of other late-night premieres this season in the meters:

  • Conan (P) 1.9/5  (WANDA up +16%)
  • Fallon (P) 1.1/4  (WANDA up +100%)
  • Kimmel (P) 1.4/5  (WANDA up +64%)

I haven't seen Last night's Saturday Night Live with Taylor Swift drew a season high 5.0 household rating in the metered markets.  For most of the season SNL has been doing around a 4.6 to 4.8 household rating range in the metered market ratings for original episodes from 11:30p-1a.  An encore (repeat)  telecast last Saturday with Ryan Reynolds and Lady Gaga averaged a 3.2 metered market rating.
