Hi, Amyvil. We can all try and remain as optimistic as we like. Unfortunately that still doesn’t change the basic fact. Unless Three Rivers starts showing a significant improvement in numbers for the 18-49 year old demographic, the chances of it remaining on CBS’s schedule are practically none. Poor ratings in the 18-49 demographic equals unhappy Advertisers equals Advertisers taking their business elsewhere equals CBS losing money equals bye bye Three Rivers. That’s why they call it show ‘business’. And yeah it does suck because I actually do like the show. And you know I’m a fan of Alex’s as well. I had hoped this show would do a lot better for him. But at the end of the day CBS is trying to run a business, and make a profit. If something is losing money for them, they’re not likely to hang onto it for very long. It wouldn’t make good business sense. *hugs* I’ll see you around the ML and TR boards.

Hmmmmm……2010?

Johnthemon – It was just for the special night, however American Dad is tentatively scheduled to move to 7:30 so Sons of Tucson can air at 8:30. Next season American Dad will either air at 8:30 or 9:30. Dad isnt going anywhere anytime soon, depsite low numbers. FOX seems satisfied overall and they just ordered another season.

I’m thinking more like “pipe dream”.

The show’s getting lousy ratings and they’re getting even lower. As it is, a rating of less than 2.0 in the 18-49 range isn’t acceptable to major networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.

The show has lousy writing and horrendous direction. Drama students from Hollywood High could probably do a better job with Three Rivers.

CBS needs to lower the boom on this show and replace it with better scripted programming.

Has CBS started to promote anything for midseason yet?
I’ve seen ABC LOST commercials, FOX 24, but there established shows.

I liked the comedy special, I don’t really know what people were expecting but it lived up to my expectations. The 8:00 family guy was better than the last two episodes by a lot. I haven’t watched the 9pm fg yet.

Brothers & Sisters…No wonder it’s sinking. It’s the most over dramatic hour of TV. It’s about on the same level as Days Of Our Lives.

Now do you believe that Family Guy is childish crap?

I hope they don’t plan on doing another Seth and Alex special like last night’s. It was dreadful. He makes good cartoons but the variety show is dead for a reason.

In the 80′s and 90′s the cowboys almost always had the big national game. Twenty and thirty years ago the networks didn’t have as much regional coverage as they do today so most of the nation would end up watching a cowboys/redskins game, whether they really wanted to or not. Madden/Summerall, probably the best game calling duo ever, always called the cowboy games, which added quite a bit, gave the games a more important feel. They were a great duo, still haven’t been replaced.

The league did a great job selling the cowboys brand too. During the cowboys run in the 90′s they often benefitted from friendly spots and questionable calls by the refs but by then they were the team you love or love to hate so no one seemed to mind.

I do find it kinda odd that people love to follow one particular team over such a long period of time through so many changes. The players, even the greats, come and go, as do the coaches. Even old ‘hole in the roof’ has been replaced. The only thing that has basically stayed the same is the uniforms. They do have a great logo. Maybe people have been cheering for the star on the helmet all this time? Cowboys verses Indians? Thats a scary thought.

If those numbers for “Brothers” are not erroneous, those are, like, Back 9 pickup numbers. Well, FOX had to know it would get better ratings Sundays 7:00 than Fridays 8:00. Didn’t the Joe Namath/NBC 3-week-wonder “The Waverly Wonders” teach them anything? Maybe next they can get the Japanese disco band, Pink Lady, to star in a variety show with MacFarlane. They can call it “Pink Lady and Seth.”

I don’t believe it has as much to do with Tony Romo per se, he just happens to be the quarterback of “America’s Team”. I wouldn’t mind being Tony Romo for a day though.
