Gossip Girl Builds Week-to-Week in Adult and Women Demos

November 10, 2009 (Burbank, CA) – Last night’s coupling of One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl scored the network’s most watched Monday of the season (2.52mil) and matched its season best in adults 18-49 (1.3/3) and women 18-49 (1.9/5), according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Monday, Nov. 9, 2009.

One Tree Hill climbed this week to hit a new season high in total viewers (2.67mil) and women 18-49 (1.9/5) and matched its season best in women 18-34 (2.6/7), adults 18-34 (1.7/5) and adults 18-49 (1.3/3).  One Tree Hill gained over last week by 13% in women 18-34, 13% in adults 18-34, 19% in women 18-49, 18% in adults 18-49 and 15% in total viewers.

Gossip Girl was also on the rise, improving 26% in women 18-34 (2.9/7), 29% in adults 18-34 (1.8/5), 30% in adults 18-49 (1.3/3), 19% in women 18-49 (1.9/4) and 20% in total viewers (2.37mil) versus last week.

Gossip Girl delivered its second best adults 18-49 of the season (behind only the season premiere), and matched its best adults 18-34 and women 18-34 ratings in 6 weeks (since 9/28/09).

  1. Say what? One Tree Hill had a 1.9 in Adults 18-49? Though that first paragraph is filled with mistakes. They intro’d both OTH and GG, but used OTH’s numbers to emphasize their success.

  2. Errorl, the CW agrees. There were some typos in the original release which they revised. I’ve replaced the original with the corrected version above.

    Let’s be honest these ratings aren’t that great. OTH is performing decently despite the departure of two main leads (Still down a lot from last year of course). Gossip Girl on the other hand has been struggling to stay above the 2 million mark a lot this season even with all it’s promotion. Later in the season I predict even worse ratings.

    Still, the ratings for GG really spiked with that Threesome action. just think how high the ratings would rise if they had an Orgy!
