I do love Cold Case , and I hope the show to do better next week.
I could not believe Cold Case’s numbers were worse than Three Rivers.
So Cold Case was the winner last Sunday , not Three Rivers.
Poor Cold case , the show even is able to get some numbers back after that terrible Three Rivers scares all viewers away.

Well, I guess the campaign going on for CBS to pick up more episodes needs more work now.

At this time, Hibberd is saying that adjusted ratings are showing 3 River’s ratings at it’s “normal” 1.8 rating for the night.

Yes Tom DH premired pretty low and I can abtribute that to the low quality of the last season they premired at #16 but has since then been growing with viewers on are ranked #10 so saying they are no longer in the top 10 is not factual. DH is great and keeps getting better this season I think they realized they needed to step their game up when ratings fell last season. DH is really back this season.

I always thought “American Dad” was the weakest of the FOX cartoon block. Just my opinion…

Anyone think 60 minutes will be pulled soon? I remember when it used to be the top rated show of the whole season.

wow, who the hell is in charge of CBS.
I mean if it was a good show with potential, or on NBC, i’d say keep it on. But your CBS with limted slots available for improvement. A series high of 2.0 isn’t getting it done.

Dana – I don’t mean to rain on your parade, but what Kelly Kahl said in regards to Three Rivers was not anywhere near an official confirmation that a second season was inevitable. Or even that a back 9 would be ordered. Ms Kahl might very well been referring to CBS airing all 13 episodes, and not having plans to pull the show off the air until then.

It sounds as if you really love Three Rivers, you’re certainly giving it some high praise. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong at all. We all like what we like. I watch the show myself. I enjoy it. But let’s get some perspective here. Mandy Patinkin might have a shot at an Emmy for the performance he put in last night, but Three Rivers itself? Not a hope in hell. I’m sorry, Three Rivers is just nowhere near emmy award standard. It’s not even in the same ballpark. Heck it’s not even the same game.

I do want Three Rivers to succeed, and I’m assuming you do too. Personally I don’t believe that hiding one’s head in the sand, and going ‘OMG, BEST SHOW EVAH!!!!11111′ (Hyperbole ) is conducive to this end. At the end of the day it comes down to ratings, and Three Rivers needs to improve in order to attract more viewers. How can anyone expect this improvement to take place if noone is willing to step up and say, ‘This is what is wrong with the show, this is what needs to be fixed’.

Just my opinion of course, take care. I shall continue to keep my fingers crossed for Three Rivers future success.

“CBS is going to re-arrange Sunday night next week.

As a little experiment, the network is going to swap 9 p.m.’s “Three Rivers” and 10 p.m.’s “Cold Case” to see if either show is improved by the change.
The one-time scheduling switch comes as rumors circulate that CBS is contemplating an additional script order for “Three Rivers” (two) and possibly even ordering additional episodes (five). The network may be waiting for nationals to come in tomorrow for Sunday’s episode (which hit a season high in the preliminary ratings) before making a decision.

As noted in that ratings post, “Rivers” tends to get blamed for the performance of “Case,” which rose last year when it had a better lead-in from “Without a Trace.” CBS probably figures they’ll give “Case” the stronger “Amazing Race” lead in and push “Rivers” to where there’s less competition at 10 p.m. and see what happens. Worth a shot.”

Dana, saw that Broadcasting & Cable article and in fact, I posted that link here last week. All the article says is that CBS is not going to pull the 13 episodes already ordered for Three Rivers. It says nothing about letting the show go beyond 13 episodes.

If CBS has already decided to order the back nine, why haven’t they announced it when EVERY OTHER SCRIPTED CBS SHOW that debuted this fall already has full-season pickups? Even with the ratings bump this week, the only shows that got lower ratings than Three Rivers is 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos.

At best, CBS hasn’t made a decision yet on Three Rivers’ future. Claiming that CBS has already decided to give the show a second season (not to mention the show getting an Emmy Award) is delusional.

That is crazy with all the KC/Oak markets! I totally forgot the NFL rule that doesn’t allow a game to air opposite home team, if it’s not a doubleheader week for network. (For example in Denver, we got both Fox games because Broncos were on road.) Since CBS had one game — all those NFC got stuck with this dog in their window. Next week, a ton of big markets will get Rams/Cardinals on FOX since CBS has DH. Yikes!

Dan, I don’t think CBS will announce a cancelation; they’ll just let it fade after 10 or 13 eps. I was just wondering if there’s a date where you could say, for example, “Ah, it’s Dec 1 and CBS hasn’t ordered a back nine, so 13 episodes is definitely all that will be filmed.”

Marie – Theres eps scheduled for Nov 22, Dec 6 and Dec 13. That gives 10 eps to be broadcast. The other 3 could turn up on Jan 2, 10, and 17 should the series last until then. I guess it proves wrong everyone who didnt think the series would air all eps, even me.

Shaz – I dont think theres a definite deadline but it would be around now to late Nov that CBS would announce the series fate. Though the series is more likely to be axed, they dont necessarily need to announce it. They could just air all 13 eps.

DuMont, yes Three Rivers had some of it’s best ratings last night. But even with it’s best ratings, the ratings are still horrible. I wouldn’t be surprised if the show gets canceled any day now. They could also let the 13 episode order air out, and then let the show fade out without ever announcing anything.

I look for CBS to air all 13 episodes of Three Rivers and not order those additional back nine episodes. Which in my opinion us CBS doing the same thing for Three Rivers that FOX is doing for Dollhouse. My thinking is in January they will replace Three Rivers with either episodes of Flashpoint or Jerry Bruckheimer’s Miami Trauma.

With an excellent episode starring Mr. Mandy Patinkin, ‘Three Rivers’ moves above the 2.0 A18-49 threshold in the second toughest timeslot of the week (second only to Thursday 9-10 pm). Hopefully this series high gives CBS pause for reflection as they ponder their mid-season choices.
