uh oh…im a HUGE wanda sykes fan…but can never catch her talk show on saturday nights…if it continues to slip under mad tv’s numbers im sure we wont be seeing wanda for too long.

  2. I’m a huge fan too, but this is just not something that is a good fit for Saturday Night late night. Watching a panel discussion is not really what folks are in the mood for – even if they are drinking…

50% of her show is MUST see
50% of her show is fast forward.

I love her views and I think that she will grow more comfortable.

She needs to get rid of the black guy on the show… NOT FUNNY.
    Cross dresser is funny.

And her guests don’t talk enough, not given enough time. She would be great if she had some segments as long as Bill Maher…

  4. Jimmy

I’m not surprised. I watched the first two episodes and while there were some funny moments, there wasn’t enough for me to return.

watched the first two and think it is a misfire…won’t go out of my way to watch it again.

You people are so pathetic with your constant pushing of male late night talk shows. You have TALKED UP Lopez tonight and all late talk shows, that actually have very few viewers, and ignored any female talk show that has many more viewers. Oprah, Ellen, The View, have MANY more viewers than most late night male talk shows.

You have very obviously been as negative as possible to Wanda Sykes, and have only given an obviously reluctant brief piece about it. You have chosen your words to make her show look bad, emphasizing the 14% drop from the premiere. All shows drop from the premiere.

Wandas show got more people than Lopez tonight (but you won’t quote directly comparable figures so that people can see that) and more than many late night shows, but you cannot bring yourself to acknowledge this can you. Your politics and sexism is showing loud and clear.

  7. I <3 Oprah (or at least her ratings!). And if I was into logo-wear, I’d wear the T-Shirt:

  8. Wasn’t Wanda Sykes the one at the White House Correspondents Dinner who said she hopes Rush Limbaugh has kidney failure? I’m not going to watch someone who engages in hate talk.

It’s one thing to be of a political ideology.

It’s quite another to begin a series trashing an opponent over long eyelashes. Bizarre, not the slightest bit funny. Lost a lot of viewers over pushing her personal trash on America.

No one wants to watch Keith Olbermann for comedy relief either. Wanda turned herself into a joke.

The best late night strategy for FOX would be to air one episode of a FOX NEWS Show at 11 every night. Sunday Beck Monday O’reilly etc… Its already produced making a ton of money and would snag a few extra bucks for FOX broadcasting.

cody i wholeheartedly agree saturdays and sundays at 12 fox should play highest rated shows on fox news

Why *doesn’t* Fox bcast reuse material from Fox News?

The material is already paid for and the bcast-only audience has *no* escape from the crypto-lib Big 3 MSM.

For a long time I figured that Simpsons reruns were so insanely profitable on the Fox bcast O&O’s that Fox bcast didn’t want to sacrifice any slots…

But even the Simpsons’ mighty financial machine must be slowing down after 20 years of reairings…

Does Fox News have some contractual limits imposed by their cable distribution partners that would prevent them from using cable originated material on the bcast net?

  13. What works and looks good ratings wise on cable doesn’t always work on broadcast. Fox News Sundays from the cable channel broadcasts on the net but I wouldn’t be surprised if local re-broadcasts of high school football on a UHF station got more viewers.

  14. Johnny

Not a huge drop after the first show. I wish Wanda would focus more on being funny than sharing her political views. I agree with her for the most part but I’m not tuning in to hear political views. Just bring the funny!

  15. Scratchy

I watched the first episode and turned it off because it was just not funny (the round table was horrendous). I like Wanda, but enough with the constant political viewpoint crap. We get it. You love Obama and you would sleep with the guy if you didn’t like women. Tried watching a 2nd time and couldn’t make it beyond 5 minutes. There is just so little to laugh at. Cancel this mess and bring back MadTV!!

  16. Cody

Yeah like I watch FNS because i don’t have Fox News. (Economy hit us hard) I would love to have something on FOX NEWS on FOX

    Sunday
    Glen Beck

    Monday
    Brett Baier

    Tuesday
    Shep Smith

    Wedensday
    O’reilly

    Thrusday
    Hannity

    Friday
    Greta

    Saturday
    Huckabee

That’s there entire evening line up there

  17. Cody

Plus FNS needs a morning show lead in to be competitive.

How many millions of households is a 1.9 metered-market household rating?

  19. I’m not sure how many it represented in just the metered markets, but if the 1.9 rating held against the entire population of TV viewing households it would = 1.9 percent of 114.9 million households or roughly 2.2 million households,

  20. Rock Strongo

Thx Rob! And a bonus question: why do they not bother putting the million tally in these pr soundbites? Why I am supposed to be more dazzled with 1.9 rating than with 2.2 million?
