Is there any new info for LOTS? It seems that we should have ratings for at least episode 2 by now, and soon episode 3. Really curious about how the show fared after its premiere.

How can we convince the network to take a look at ratings from Legend of the Seeker downloaded and watched on websites such as Hulu. Also do they take into account people who bought the season on iTunes? I personally have a Netflix account and have watched all of Season 1 and the first two episodes of season 2 on the Instant Play feature, it that counted in the ratings? Too many people today watch downloaded shows, it is important for the network to take into account changing times in Television, rather than canceling a show that is loved world-wide.

Robert, thank you for the special LOTS mention. Seemed to me episode one season ONE was 5.4m. This seems a clear disappointment. Ugh, I really like the show.

Personally I watched it on Hulu all last year. I note now Hulu goes to an 8 day delay. Maybe once viewers know this is will get more viewers at their regular time slot.

Usually when a production company has a scripted show, they sell the rights to a specific network (ABC Studios sold the rights to air Criminal Minds to CBS). The network puts the show in primetime and all their affiliates air it at the same time based on the network’s schedule.

Shows like Jeopardy and Oprah are also first run syndication. Instead of selling the show to a specific network, the production company sells it to local affiliates to fill some of that non-primetime space they have. That means it runs on different networks and at different times depending on which affiliate buys it and what it wants to do with it. So, the CBS affiliate in Chicago can buy it and air it Saturdays at 4, while the ABC affiliate in San Diego can buy it and air it Sundays at 3, and the MyTV affiliate in Kansas City airs it Saturdays at 6.

LotS is the only scripted show on first run syndication right now, but there have been others in the past (one of the Star Treks, Baywatch, Zena, etc.)

I’m a little lost.
What does it mean that it’s a first run syndicated show?
Does that mean they guaranteed it 5 seasons before it started? (or the 100 and whatever episodes?)

It’s on multiple channels at the same time?

What’s the original channel, original timeslot for this series? I’m pretty sure my DVR catches it on CW on Saturday’s at 6.

For me and i live in chicago LOTS airs on satursday’s at 4pm so i watch it then. My dad also watches it to and it somewhat gets good press around here. Also Craig Horner and Bridget Regan has been coming to the U.S. from Auckland to be on talk shows about LOTS so that will get them some more press and hopefully viewers. How do i know this? I just watched Craig Horner on Regis and Kelly and saw Bridget Regan on a couple of talk shows. Good Show, good story and characters. I hope it gets renewed again and again and again. If they make a season based on a book like now LOTS can have 11 seasons!! Thats more then FRIENDS!

I always watch this show, because even though it sounds strange, the show’s really- honorable? Every character in the show has some serious demons, yet always strives to be better, and to basically save the world! Kind of rare in a modern tv show. I like it.

I love LOTS. Some people take it too seriously. My dad and I watch it regularly, but the rest of my family just can’t handle some of the lines Craig Horner delivers.

I hope it lasts as long as some of the other syndicated shows have – there are a lot of books to explore!

The Legend of the Seeker, runs on 4 different channels here in Pensacola, FL., that I know of. From Sat afternoon, Sunday afternoon, Mon 1am, and another time slot that I’m missing. What are the total numbers for all stations and times being watched?

well I really like LOTS so I hope all the books get a TV adaption.

I hope DVD sales are also taken into account.

According to the numbers the first season has sold over 141k units so far.

Not bad for a TV Show most people don’t know about.

As for Smallville’s ratings dropping when originally very high. You could blame that on the first season how it was repetitive with Freak of the Week story lines plus all the Clark and Lana cr*p.
Also how it’s gotten time slot changes several times. Especially the change from 9pm to 8pm where not as many ppl watch TV.

season 1: Tuesday 9pm 5.9 million
season 2: Tuesday 9pm 6.3 million
season 3: Wednesday 8pm 4.96 million
season 4: Wednesday 8pm 4.4 million
season 5: Thursday 8pm 4.7 million

What can we compare this to? If there are no other first-run syndicated dramas, and a lot of people are out of the habit of watching syndicated dramas, then I guess we’re all left scratching our heads on this one. Does it do better than all the syndicated drama repeats, like weekend repeats of the CSIs? Twice as good, three times as good? I’d hope so, since the new episodes look relatively expensive, with their badass fight scenes.

I’d like to see this show closer to its season one highs, but it’s an awfully late season premiere, so that might have confused some viewers. And being demoted to 5 p.m. Saturdays (not Sundays as John said) from 9 p.m. in New York can’t help.

I’m kind of fascinated that Pisher likes this show (or, in any case, doesn’t hate it). I agree that Bridget Regan is amazing. I hope there are some episodes where she gets possessed or somebody else fakes her appearance (again) or where she plays the alternate-universe-with-a-goatee version of her character, etc. etc. etc. so that she gets to exercise her acting chops.

Too bad that Craig Horner is not quite so good — but he’s getting better. And the swordfights are cool.

Season averaged 3.6 million and a 2.0 in the demos viewers for the first ten episodes. Premiered with 4.1 with the pilot and each episodes are costing 1.5 millions $. I guess that the average for the complete season must be around 3 million viewers.

So these numbers are pretty good. Last season numbers are more than probably including the same “night repeats.

So the 3.5 millions season 2 premiere in comparison to 4.1 millions for the pilot, its pretty good.

I watched the season 2 premiere at like… 3 in the morning on ABC
and then episode 2 to on Saturday 6pm. Must be hard to get an accurate number.

I LOVE THIS SHOW…I wish more people watched it,,,Of course with the weird timeslot, 80% of people have never heard of it… This show is a surprise to me, I never thought I’d like it sooo much, but its addicting and It gets better and better I think season 2 is better than season 1…I love IT!!!

I like the show a lot.

I find it extremely odd that the show has a Saturday at 6pm timeslot for new episodes.

Also, I find it extremely odd that season 2 takes place like 3 weeks after season 1 ended… but Richard Cypher has 11 months of hair growth. I guess the Power of Orden also contains the Power of Rogain!

Smallville started off very well in the ratings–unfortunately.

And I certainly hope LOTS doesn’t drag on for the better part of a decade. For one thing, it will get increasingly repetitious. For another, the actors deserve a chance to play other roles. Bridget Regan is an amazing talent.

They really went off on a new tangent this season, so it’ll be interesting to see if last year’s audience hangs around.

It’s harder for me to opine on syndicated numbers, especially without any demos. Relative to some things its good. It would’ve been the number 1 scripted show on Syfy, passing SGU and Sanctuary by a wide margin.

It’s way off of its season 1 highs (where it averaged more than 4 million) but also way above its season 1 lows (1.1 rating in season 1)so it’s probably right around where ABC/Disney expected. But as far as prognosticating on a season 3 for a first-run syndicated show…I won’t prognosticate!

I’ve been so desperate for info, that I’m glomming onto whatever I get! Melrose Place went up a whole lot from last week… If by a whole lot you mean almost nothing at all. 0.8 A18-49, 1.1 A18-34, 1.6 W18-34.

V dropped 18% from last week (which I assume means 3.1.)

Yeah I hated dealing with both sets of numbers when I was tracking TNG, DS9, Xena, Hercules, and then when VOY started on UPN, but also aired in syndication in the markets that UPN didn’t cover (I really hated that).
