In response to some commenter requests, reader MikeS has produced a chart of the first 50 days of ratings for Headline News' The Joy Behar Show and compared them to the final 50 days of the show she replaced,  Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell. So far, Joy's done no better in the ratings.
2009.11.19 Behar

Remembering the tiff caused by earlier time period vs. time period comparisons, I'm sure this is not intended to imply that the two time periods were exactly the same in terms of ratings potential. They're simply the numbers, interpret them as you will.

The trend lines above are 10 day moving averages.

No surprise here. If you want a strident voice mouthing Democrat talking points, there are already so many options on TV.

  2. mark-allen

the most annoying woman on t.v…and that includes rachel maddow.

    (and that’s saying something)

  3. Tom

Joy Behar is a nasty partisan and while that can appeal to like minded people in small doses it’s barely tolerable in large ones (like a whole show to herself).

There’s a reason Ann Coulter limits herself to guest appearances on other people’s shows (and say what you will about Ann Coulter her ability to “work the media” is up there with the best of them)

  4. steve

are we surprised this leftwing shrew isnt doing better?
I didnt think it was possible to stake out a position to the left of ray maddow and keith. ..but she is giving it the old college try.

  5. MarsPolarLander

The should try running Lou Dobbs reruns during the same slot and see what happens. No one wants to hear or watch these female harpies.

  6. bruce

Behar reminds me of Fran Dreschler (The Nanny) – loud, annoying, unwatchable.

  7. There’s a difference for me between Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters. Sure, both are liberals, both ONLY vote democrat, and they’ve become a faithful source for wrong answers for decades.

But where they differ is where Al Sharpton, presented with new, contradictory information shows evidence of a person with a brain. I feel like, if I could present enough clear evidence, Al could be Conservative; that’s apdaptive intelligence. “Prove it, and I’ll believe it.” It’s a great thing!

Joy Behar is incapable of this. She’s still waiting to evolve opposing thumbs. MILES from this intelligence, don’t we hear enough from her during The (Liberal) View?

Maybe we could put Ellen on more channels, let’s see more of Al Gore….some folks just aren’t meant to have a show!

  8. shoey

more screeching harpies we don’t need

  9. Vicki

I actually saw Behar once where I did not dislike her, she was MCing a pie baking contest.

My biggest problem with Behar is that she only agrees that another person can have an opinion if it totally echoes hers.

  10. Doug (2)

Does FNC have a link on its homepage to this website?

  11. bruce

There should be a link, since both have that rare distinction of being both “fair and balanced.”

  12. Mumbo

“The only thing drooping lower than my ratings are the bags under my eyes.

So no one watches my show, so what, who cares?”

  13. Dorothy

I dislike her very biased (TEAM OBAMA) conversations with her guests that have the same opinions as herself.

“Behar reminds me of Fran Dreschler (The Nanny) – loud, annoying, unwatchable.”

Don’t be dissing Fran. I loved her show.

And thanks MikeS from some commenter.

  15. Joan

Bahar is awful! I am not real crazy about Jane Mitchell though! I love the guy from “Prime Time” they should move him to that time slot or get someone a little more conservitive, middle of the road maybe? But that bitter old broad is depressing.

  16. manny2066

Honestly, I do not know who she is and I don’t care. All I wanted to know is about Ann Coulter. She is pretty and intellectual.

  17. JayS

MANn Coulter pretty? She looks like Andy Dick with a wig on, Adam’s Apple and all.

I guess I could call myself somewhat liberal, but as I write I am listening to Sean Hannity’s radio show. I can’t tolerate Olbermann, Maddow, Behar, and especially Matthews. Have never seen Behar’s new show, I get enough of her on The View with four other people trying to talk over her so why would I want to watch her alone?

  18. Brett

    lol at mark-allen’s comment

  19. KMcD

Pretty soon on the ratings list it will say “scratched” and it can’t come too soon for me. What an obnoxious over-rated piece of work.

  20. AppleStinx

The graphs are obviously biased. I wouldn’t go as far as calling them “dishonest”, but… not being counted is the number of viewers Behar has been consistently SAVING in the key 3-86 demo.
