LOST will return Tuesdays at 9pm starting February 2, 2010. I'm not sure yet what this means for the 8pm and 10pm schedule (though the betting seems to be on V taking the Tuesday 10pm slot after the Olympics) or what will happen once Dancing with the Stars returns in March, but sooner or later (hopefully sooner) ABC will reveal its mid-season plans and we'll update you.
The Groundhog Day return will feature 3 hours of Lost - a one hour recap plus a two hour premiere.
Update: Here's the press release from ABC:
ABC ANNOUNCES THE PREMIERE OF THE SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON OF “LOST,”
WITH A SPECIAL ALL-NIGHT EVENT ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2
ABC announces the premiere of the sixth and final season of “Lost,” with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2. A recap special will kick off the night from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET, followed by the much anticipated two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m.
The series will then air in its regular time period – Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET – beginning the following week, on February 9.
“Lost” stars Naveen Andrews as Sayid, Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Emilie de Ravin as Claire, Michael Emerson as Ben, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, Matthew Fox as Jack, Jorge Garcia as Hurley, Josh Holloway as Sawyer, Daniel Dae Kim as Jin, Yunjin Kim as Sun, Ken Leung as Miles, Evangeline Lilly as Kate, Terry O’Quinn as Locke and Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana.
“Lost” was created by Jeffrey Lieber and J.J. Abrams & Damon Lindelof. Abrams, Lindelof, Bryan Burk, Jack Bender, Edward Kitsis, Adam Horowitz, Jean Higgins and Carlton Cuse serve as executive producers. “Lost,” which is filmed entirely on location in Hawaii and premiered on September 22, 2004, is from ABC Studios.

Wow, they are actually going to move DWTS results to go up against Idol. I thought there was zero chance of that happening. Now the question is if FF or V gets the post Lost deathslot.
ABC posted it on Facebook:

It just mentions the 3 hour event. No mention whether this is the time slot where LOST will finish its run.
I had a feeling they’d do this. Julia I really think that depends on how V does next week. If the ratings look like they are stabilizing V is a shoe in. Maybe ABC is taking my advice (j/k), now lets see if they promote both shows returns as major events.
V probably makes the most sense, because they can leave The Forgotten when it is through its 18 episode run, and then replace it with V.
CK, the press release (added above) says its regular time slot will be Tuesdays at 9pm
then they can throw Scrubs and Better Off Ted under the Idol bus.
SO maybe UGLY BETTY will move on wed at 10 after all!!
George, my magic 8 Ball says don’t count on it
No, George. This has no bearing on Ugly Betty.
What they need,
8:00 V
9:00 Lost
10:00 Flash Foward
All three shows can compete with the othe r networks pretty handidly
shaking and crying
I just saw the press release. 9:00 Tuesdays. Huge LOST fan and I know where I’ll be.
Cody, that would work until March when DWTS returns. However, if DWTS is canceled or moved from its normal Mon/Tues schedule (a bigger story than Lost’s return, if that happens) anything is possible!
Sounds good to me.
Who’s to say Dancing won’t move to 10?
Robert, that would work until March, except V won’t have anything to air until March.
Dancing is a family show, they will not move to 10pm.
This sucks. I’m going have to watch the entire last season online as Tuesdays are busy for me.
I think Dancing will get the 8PM slot when it returns in March. That gives enough time for ABC to burn through Scrubs and Better Off Ted at 8PM.
That leaves the unanswered question of what ABC is going to do with Wednesdays.
