I know people may argue with me on this but Castle will have 11 new episodes starting Jan 11. With new The Bachelor, its unlikely that ABC will air repeats of Castle (they could occassionally air specials in the 10pm slot) so my guess is they run it straight through until late March. Then they can premiere Happy Town and see how that series does in the 10pm slot once Dancing returns.

Dan, I think ABC will keep Lost at 9PM, Scrubs & BoT will be moved to 8PM and they will both finish their 13 episode runs before DWTS comes back. It looks like ABC will be airing DWTS at 8PM against Idol this year, maybe they think the results show is cheap enough to throw against Idol?

Idol might trend down this season but still its an Animal.

When it comes to the argument of flow it makes sense but looking at the incredibly succesful ‘must watch Thursday’ of NBC past and even CBS’ current Monday line-up a tonally similar drama does not need to follow on from comedy blocks to work. ER became a monster hit out of the NBC comedy block and CSI: MIami is the only CSI still pulling big dermos and that leads out of the CBS comedy block. I’d argue that putting something completely different from the comedy block might be more succesful than a dramady…

However if you want something that has a good comedy tone I’d argue that Castle is a better fit for where ABC is right now than Betty.

Monday is 3 hours of ABC Family shows and Heroes.

Tuesday is Melrose Place, Biggest Loser, and apperently V, FlashFoward, and Lost.

Wensday is Human Target.

Thursday is Vampire Diaries and Survivor, and Supernatural

Friday is Smallville and Ghost Whisperer.

I personally think ABC should have

NBC should move Biggest Loser to Wensdays because it will obviously win, since theres only Americas Next Top Model as its only competition.

Lost is one of those shows that people like to talk about, so after show show is over, a good portion of its audience like to do just that. Also, it’s my suspicion (but unconfirmed) that Lost pulls in an atypical TV viewer who probably don’t watch much TV to begin with. I think that it’s income demos are the highest on TV.

Because ABC can make more from airing Lost at 9PM than at 10PM.

Ugly Betty seems like a decent choice after the comedies, it’s meant to be a dramedy anyway isn’t it?

ABC should cut Scrubs by the end of May, it’s had it’s run, 9 seasons for a >fairly< ensemble cast sitcom is enough, just have Ted at 8:30 on Wednesday, between The Middle and Modern Family.

ABC Studios is the re-named television production arm of the Walt Disney Company, which previously used the Touchstone Television banner based on the success of its Touchstone Pictures film studio. Because Disney likes consolidation (and pretty much who isn’t consolidating in the media these days?), they called it ABC Studios to better broaden to strength of the ABC Brand. This is also why Buena Vista Television now goes by the name Disney/ABC Television Distribution.

Does anyone know where “ABC Studios” came from and why they now suddenly OWN their biggest hit shows? Cause i own all the Seasons of “Lost” “Grey’s” and “Housewives” and it wasn’t until Season 4 on each DVD set when “ABC Studios” popped up.

They better not move FlashForward or V in Tuesday 10pm! Lost will kill those shows!

I could see DWTS results show pulling 2.6-3.2 at 8pm against Idol. I think it really is a wise to move DWTS at 8pm.

I don’t think it’s a real surprise that Dancing results move to 8:00 (which I think is an absolute certainty). It’s just a results show, the regular two-hour competition episode is where the real ratings are. It beats sacrificing shows like V or Lost to the Idol gods. Although V is being sacrificed to the post-Lost death slot, so…

I think FlashForward will stay put where it is, but that’s just my opinion. The first two Wednesday hours will remain a comedy block, that’s for sure, and then I guess the third hour goes to shows like The Deep End, Ugly Betty burn-off, whatever.

I hear ABC in considering just going dark for an hour after Lost during this last season as a result. A spokesman for ABC said, “Hey, it will be even cheaper to produce than Leno, and not even ER in its prime could have drawn a 1.8 in the post-Lost death slot.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is reporting that ABC has filed a claim to trademark the phrase “Post-Lost Death Slot.” They will be selling T-Shirts on their web site from 10-11 p.m. every Tuesday night this winter and spring. Get ‘em while they’re hot.

And did anyone know that Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln and vice-versa?

They’re doing a 6 sitcom episode thing on December 23, too, with “Cougar Town” airing from 10:00-11:00. Hmm. Well, I hope they’re not thinking what I think they’re thinking. That hardly ever works.
