MediaPost has an item today about job cuts at the same Nielsen facility that had the power outage earlier this week.
If you'd rather not read the entire article:
Summary for the rational: We operate in the same economy as everybody else. Our business is down. We need to cut costs.
Summary for the crazy: Eliminating the jobs of the people who undercount the ratings for your favorite shows, while keeping those who overcount the ratings for shows you despise is a complicated process, but trust us, we're doing our best.

I think it’s a conspiracy. Some employee turned off the wrong switch so they’re firing the usual suspects.
Bill, “Summary for Crazy?” Great one! Laughed heartily at that!
I agree with Vamp Mom.
Summary for those who read between the lines: We are firing the incompetant people who caused the power outage.
Were they named Fargo perchance?
A summary for the realistic rational – “We need to increase our excess profits margin, to keep AIG and Goldman Sachs happy, and outsourcing to India makes sense, so we’re testing that now…”
There is no basis for the crazy summary based on just the story, but based on the fact that Alec Baldwin from Hulu was seen in Oldsmar last week, the crazy summary may be more accurate than you think…
…Nielsen – “We’re aliens, and that’s how we roll…”
