2009 AMA Awards Show

ABC has canceled a concert performance by Adam Lambert scheduled for Wednesday morning's Good Morning America.  James Hibberd suggests it's punishment for a too-sexually charged performance at Sunday's American Music Awards that drew the ire of over 1,500 people who called to complain (and of course, the PTC).

But Lambert won't be sitting at home staring at Twitter on Wednesday morning.   CBS wasted no time scheduling him for an interview and live performance on Wednesday morning's The Early Show.

Just like Clay Aiken no one will give a damn about him in a year.

  2. Pat

I would drop him because he looked and sounded like an idiot

  3. Mikey

Disagree. Adam Lambert is a far bigger talent than Clay Aiken and he’s already shown a willingness to be controversial (to say the least).

He’s not really my shot of whiskey, but I think he’s going to be around for a long time.

  4. Winston Smith (TruthMin)

I think Adam has a sitcom in his future.

Called ADAM and STEVE with a talking snake that hangs out in a fruit tree in their backyard orchard telling them to do “things”. Kind of like that teenage witch show with the talking cat – only gayer.

  5. buffywrestling

Awesome. I love that you posted that pic; people are going to flip :D

  6. Les Moonves’ boys and girls are on the ball!

  7. Patrick Murphy

CBS is actually picking up an artist that ABC deems too controversial??

HUMAN SACRIFICE! DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER! MASS HYSTERIA!!!!

We’ll definitely see a fall-off of humans on this planet, since now they really have seen it all.

I Loved The Adam Lambert Performance on The AMA’s. This Country Needs Someone Like Adam to Shake things up and wake people up. Most of the people in this country are just so boring and complacent

  9. richie

Silly decision – especially for ABC – normally such a gay friendly network

  10. Eric (Ohio)

I cringe when i see things like that. I duno. I cringe when i see shows like Saw.

    HAVING SAID THAT,

It is kind of ‘discrimination / racist / sexist’ for the west coast to have edited his performance / abc to drop him…

Did they do the same when Madonna awesomely made out w/ Brittany Spears?

  11. “Did they do the same when Madonna awesomely made out w/ Brittany Spears?”

    A) That was planned
    B) It was on MTV – a cable network
    C) Madonna (and Michael Jackson) made MTV and Britney Spears is the princess of the channel, they won’t piss either off.
    D) Madonna also kissed Cristina Aguilera, but we all forget, lmao.

  12. Max Sleven

Very prostitutish move by CBS. I hope Lambert is ostracized everywhere he goes from now on.

  13. ABC is discriminating against gay people. It’s a double standard.

  14. GMJH

it’s always interesting to see just how socially backward and retarded the USA is. ‘Men kissing!!!’ Is the entire country ten years old?

  15. I’m pretty sure Adam also “simulated” blow jobs by shoving male faces into (literally) his crotch and his kiss with that dancer was an open mouth (possibly tongue) kiss that wasn’t a fake peck but a full on kiss.

  16. SleeperActiveCompass

If Spedi, The Kardashians, Britney, and Paris get to be media whores, why can’t he?

  17. cool

It wasn’t even the kiss, more like the simulated blow job.

I hope his 15 minutes is up SOON.

  18. Joie

GMJH: I agree with you 100%. American culture today makes me ashamed to say that I live here.

  19. SleeperActiveCompass

Oh and that note, it’s OK for Britney to be in a bikini and dance with a snake and Miley to dance on a pole at 16 or whatever.

See what I mean? I don’t even pay attention to this stuff and I know all about it!

I want Joss’ Biggest Fan to post on this one!

  20. Luke

It wasn’t the kiss, it was the simulation of oral sex. That was just too much.

And ABC is not homophobic. It has Modern Family, which has probably the most loving and positive portrayal of gay men anywhere on TV.
