Cartoon Network/Adult Swim ratings notes for the week ending November 22, 2009

CARTOON NETWORK:

  • Cartoon Network’s hit live-action series, DESTROY BUILD DESTROY starring Andrew W.K. (Wednesday, 8:30 p.m.), scored impressive double and triple-digit ratings and delivery gains among its targeted kid demos compared to the 2008 time period.  Featuring a special episode that pitted the young cast of Ben 10: Alien Swarm (premiering Wednesday, Nov. 25, 7 p.m.) against the three hosts of Dude, What Would Happen, Destroy Build Destroy increased kids 6-11 delivery (695,000) and ratings (2.8) by 27%, and kids 9-14 delivery (656,000) by 119% and ratings (2.7) by 125%.  Similarly, boys 6-11 delivery (536,000) and ratings (4.3) grew by 16%, and boys 9-14 delivery (517,000) by 120% and ratings (4.2) by 121%.
  • On Friday night, a new episode of the original animated series BEN 10: ALIEN FORCE (8:30 p.m.) earned across-the-board delivery and ratings gains among kids and boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14, compared to the same time period last year.  Kids 2-11 delivery (995,000) improved by 5% and ratings (2.4) by 4%; kids 6-11 delivery (558,000) improved by 6% and ratings (2.7) by 8%; and kids 9-14 delivery (522,000) improved by 20% and ratings (2.1) by 17%.  Among male demos, boys 2-11 delivery (801,000) increased by 17% and ratings (3.8) by 15%; boys 6-11 delivery (558,000) increased by 11% and ratings (4.4) by 10%; and boys 9-14 delivery (438,000) increased by 28% and ratings (3.5) by 30%.

ADULT SWIM:

  • Across the fourth week of November ’09, Adult Swim ranked #1 among all ad-supported basic cable networks for total day delivery of adults 18-34, adults 18-24, men 18-34 and men 18-24.  Adult Swim telecasts accounted for 19 of the top 50 telecasts of the week on ad-supported basic cable among adults 18-34, more than any other network.
  • Among its original programming standouts, METALOCALYPSE (Sunday, 12:30 a.m.) earned solid double-digit delivery gains among adults 18-24 (386,000, up 16%), adults 18-34 (717,000, up 49%) and adults 18-49 (629,000, up 69%).
  • Additional Adult Swim original programming also scored very well compared to the same time period last year—THE VENTURE BROS. (Sunday, 12 a.m.) charted 37% delivery gains among adults 18-34 (894,000), 19% delivery gains among men 18-34 (602,000) and 50% delivery gains among adults 18-49 (1,167,000).
