Definitions:
*Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs which are currently in approximately 24.4% of all U.S. TV households. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Well done V!
Knew ABC would win with the Dancing finale. V now looks good for renewal as long as it stays at 3.0 when it returns in March.
Where’s the breakdown?
Congratz to NCIS:LA and V!!
It’s good to see V go on hiatus on a steady if not high note and since ABC hasn’t touted it as a “quiet success” perhaps it will do well when it returns in March.
Slightly off topic, the Scrubs promo during V last night was hilarious. Nothing is more frightening than Dr. Dorian projected on the belly of a starship!
Well, the Biggest Loser looks like it held in quite well despite the increased competition – although SYTYCD definitely took it on the chin, approaching Leno-esque numbers.
Not surprised on V since it’s the finale for the fall and I think a lot of people think it’s the finale for the show. More people typically tune in for a show’s finale.
90210/Melrose Place repeats arent that bad!
I didn’t know how small 18-49 rating of NCIS is. Who watches it – teens or adults 49+?
is it possible that V could return earlier?
I thought V was very good last night – it really found its feet
Ep 1 was okay, 2 and 3 were dreadful – but last night the tone, pace, style all seemed to work
Glad the ratings have stabilized!
Good V. Sadly, it doesn’t have a story to last past two seasons.
Post now updated with substantially all standard information^
Was a good episode of V imho. Shame about the long break.
The good wife I think will continue to plummet however.
GO V!
Nice to see 90210 doing better than Gossip Girls viewer wise, in repeats.
Happy for V and the Good Wife. Both shows had fantastic episodes last night!
“Not surprised on V since it’s the finale for the fall and I think a lot of people think it’s the finale for the show. More people typically tune in for a show’s finale.”
My thoughts exactly, Carol. The true test will be to see how V fares when it returns. The first episode back will probably be solid enough, but whether it stabilizes after that or continues its downward trend will be critical to its future.
On a non-ratings note, I’m still a little bummed Kelly Osbourne didn’t win DWTS. She really grew on me during the season. Not ashamed to say that my wife and I helped push ABC over the top last night.
Woe with CBS/ABC…
Nice for V but I suspect NCIS:LA’s rise had a lot more to do with a heavily promoted crossover than it did with the show itself. If anything I’d think it’s a bad sign that the audience because this means the audience is actually walking away from the show most nights.
Though I guess it really doesn’t matter since it’s in no danger of being cancelled anyway.
Leo i dont think it is possible for it to return sooner than march as not sure when they start shooting the remaining episodes.
