My post referred to the people who make a living stirring up all this hate speak for their own personal agenda and especially the folks who sheepishly follow along. I believe I even mentioned the biggest offender by name. I agree with some of the fundamentals of conservative ideology, the ones that make sense. It’s the people who are taking it to bizarre extremes I disagree with. This whole red state/blue state thing is tearing us apart as a nation. We must be either/or, conservative or liberal, if not then we are considered completely irrelevant. Pick a side or we’ll totally ignore you. There’s no place for common sense in the equation or individuality.

I took no political stance in my statement. I simply pointed out this is not the place for all the Obama hate speech that has become so popular these days. I don’t have an opinion on the president yet. He’s been in office less than a year. He faces the biggest mess any president has faced since Lincoln so I thought I’d give him a chance before I jump on the bandwagon and start bashing him.

This was the real reason why V premiered to bigger then expected numbers last month. I can only hope that this lack of alternatives helps Better Off Ted when that comes back next week.

I feel the same way when I read that. I know many Republicans who don’t own TV’s, and try to stay away from mainstream media as much as possible.

Again, if the Republicans were running ‘generic candidates’ they might cause a swing, but they aren’t, and any Democrat with brains — and a few of us have them — can put almost any Republican out there in a position of choosing to alienate that base, or everybody else.

And yes, the health care bill may wind up being unpopular — but more because it is too weak than because it offends the Tea Party crowd, who are much noisier than their numbers. The public, every poll shows, wants a strong public option, and no Stupak Amendment.

Because SYTYCD puts up weak numbers, and this will definitely outperform it. So now they use it as a strong lead-in for Dance instead, boosting the numbers for the whole night. It’s wise programming on their part.

I believe you’re really underestimating the fickleness of the general American voting population, particularly the non-affiliated voter.

Looking at the polling data, Flash Forward’s numbers are better relative to the competition’s.

Again, I’m of the view that 2010 will likely see a few seats swing back, but not a great amount – the seats up in 2010 don’t lend themselves to a ’94-style bloodbath.

Things like delivering on those promised tax cuts (which few Americans now believe will occur) instead of likely raising taxes would certainly help, and passing an unpopular version of health care reform wouldn’t help. More American voters pay attention to things like that than what talking head is saying what on TV/talk radio, or intra-party jostling.

Unless things change dramatically in a year’s time (and they certainly could), someone is going to pay, and it’s not going to be the party currently not in charge of anything.
