FOX news wouldn't be so hated by the liberals if it wasn't the number one news station in America. If it was in 2nd or 3rd place in the ratings they would not even pay attention to it.

I'm an unapologetic viewer of Fox News Channel and I love seeing the network's programs rated so high against the others. It's almost laughable that some people out there champion MSNBC's hosts and commentators and brag how that channel is "way more popular" than Fox News but then the ratings are delivered and Fox News single-handedly beats everyone by the millions. No other cable channel is in the millions...it's fascinating, for example, that Glenn Beck's show at 5pm pulled in over 2 million viewers that day. Another thing seldom highlighted is the amazing numbers for the late-night repeats of the prime-time shows on Fox. On the day reported here, O'Reilly's 11pm rerun pulled in over a million viewers.

I prefer to think of it as sweet justice when the ratings are released. Before I discovered Fox News I was an MSNBC watcher...so I know how that channel conducted itself on-air...and I was fed up with the way the prime-time hosts degraded and made fun of those whose opinions they disagreed with. On Fox News, and even on CNN, you get both sides and there's no condescension from the hosts. Chris Matthews was a turn-off to me several years ago when he was making fun of George W Bush's rugged, outdoors clothes during a video shot at a ranch. The video shown Bush clearing brush and doing normal activities in that environment but pompous Matthews feels the need to wonder why Bush is dressed in those clothes and clearing brush in Crawford, Texas. I felt like reaching into the television set and going "excuse me! what did you want Bush to wear? suit and tie?". It was one of those Chris Matthews "I'm better than you" moments. After 9/11 when Bush was stirring up feelings of patriotism and support for a potential war, it was Chris Matthews and company at MSNBC who took it on themselves to by-pass the national mood and inject their politics into it by down-playing everything and shrugging off now-historic moments in the 9/11 aftermath, all for political points with the Democrats.

In the odd world that is CNN, Campbell Brown manages to pull in some of her best numbers on the day before Thanksgiving, while nearly every other show across the board was down.
