Aw, Michael, you’re breaking my heart. Shatner is one of my absolute favorite guests on Conan. Their chemistry is amazing. Pee-Wee’s Playhouse was on 20 years ago, not 30, and his segment on Thanksgiving was well received by those who watched him as a kid. Links and reviews floated around on Facebook and Twitter for days after his appearance.

Michael McDonald will likely be singing some Christmas music; he has a new Christmas album out.

YouTube celebs? Skateboarders? Who are you proposing they attract? Preteens?

the nbc releases fully disclose the most numbers of all the other press releases…..they arent trying to hide. they stated that conan trailed in 18-49 viewers

Can’t Conan get better Guests to really appeal to a younger audience for Gods Sakes? Yeah, William Shatner was Captain Kirk 40 Years ago. Get over it.

Pee Wee Herman on Conan? He’s like 60 and had a kid’s show 30 years ago before the Sex Charges. Michael McDonald is on next week on Conan. His last hit song was like 30 years ago.

So when Fallon leads Ferguson by 54,000 viewers among adults 18-34, we’re told Fallon “out-delivered” Ferguson. But when O’Brien trails Letterman among adults 18-49 by 45,000 viewers, we’re told O’Brien “ties” Letterman. I guess the difference between tying and beating is somewhere between 45 and 54 thousand. We can guess the line is set maybe at 50,000 and then come back next week to see if NBC moves the line again. I note that the other week O’Brien tied Letterman by being only 7,000 behind. Each week the definition of “tying” keeps expanding.

TSA, technically there was no release on Lopez tonight since the first week, but they did release some ratings notes on the second week. Because there was other stuff for TBS (and TNT and truTV, for that matter) in those notes, I didn’t tag it with the late-night category (probably should’ve) but if you use the site search (upper right hand side) “Lopez Tonight” it will probably be the first thing on the list.

Actually what in the world is happening this week? Letterman’s in reruns, Ferguson’s not? Conan’s airing live, Fallon and Daly aren’t? Kimmel’s all-new, Comedy Central’s all-new, Lopez, Sykes, Chelsea, and Mo’nique are all-new.

By the by, do Lopez Tonight numbers see any releases?

The shame of it all is, when Fallon was awful he was winning consistently, but now that he’s actually settled in (I watched two full episodes recently, and they were damn good) he’s having his ass handed to him. I don’t know if it’s any indication of the show’s profits (or lack thereof) but I’ve noticed he’s now recording ads during the show to be aired during the show (not a segment, a real ad that really airs with the ads).

In any case it’s not totally up to Jimmy I suppose, the >12AM time slot has a lot to do with lead-in, and Conan’s proving the weakest of the three lead-ins by far.

Conan’s getting Biggest Loser as a lead-in this week? I, too, can’t wait to see how that goes. I expect a fair ratings boost actually.

What a wonderfully crafted piece of creative writing… To read these press releases I’d think everyone’s on top.

Conan’s new all week while the others have the week off. Has this happened since he took over? I’m interested to see if the ratings shift at all. I’m also interested to see how Conan does on Tuesday, with The Biggest Loser as a lead in instead of Jay.

I’m a big Jimmy Fallon fan from way back. I watched the first few weeks and then stopped for a while. I came back in September and he looks like he’s worked out the kinks. His show is so much fun and the Roots are #1 band on late nigh TV!
