Three-Rivers-Alex

File it under "no surprises here!", but CBS has pulled Three Rivers from its schedule though plans to produce all 13 episodes ordered and will likely ultimately air them all.  Of course when and how they will be burned off is TBD.

Cold Case will not be moving up to the 9pm spot thoughAt least temporarily, CBS will air reruns of crime dramas in the 9 10pm slot (NCIS: Los Angeles next week and  Criminal Minds the following week).

Here's the info directly from CBS:

    “Sunday, Dec. 6

9:00-10:00 PM COLD CASE (New Time Period)

Err, that certainly looks like it is being moved

  2. Devdog

Robert, I’m a little confused. Your article says, “Cold Case will not be moving up to the 9pm spot though” However, the press release says “9:00-10:00 PM COLD CASE (New Time Period)” and the repeats you discussed are being aired in the 10pm spot.

3 Rivers will not be missed.

  4. rob

SO who didnt see this coming? A movie did better than Three Rivers ever did in that timeslot.

  5. don

good cbyesssssssss cya three rivers finally is all gone cbs should never have put it on in the 1st place but they woke up and its byeeeeee so now those actors have to find a real job next to go cold case and numbers haha

  6. forg

Yeah, I think Robert got it wrong base from that, Cold Case is moving back to 9pm

  7. I was wrong. I listened to Hibberd instead of reading the actual release (even though I included it!).

    Consider me chastened!

  8. Christopher

More out of work actors merry Christmas

  9. Kim

My guess , CBS tried both Cold Case and the Hallmark movie in Three River’s slot to test if the bad ratings of Three Rivers were because of the time slot or because Three Rivers is just not working.
With Cold C. and the Movie , both doing better than Three Rivers, CBS got the answer and now they have taken Three Rivers out.
I feel sorry for Alex , he was the sexiest Vamp in TV , but Dr Andy was just so boring to watch.

  10. Christopher, Three Rivers will be finishing its 13 episode order. No one has been fired quite yet. But the people who work on the show aren’t idiots. They saw this coming a mile away, and are probably just thanking their lucky stars that it’s lasted this long. And they’ll all be free to work on pilots in another month or so!

  11. don

let it go people they both suck and cold case will be canned in may and wont make it to next fall thank god i have the ass kicker abc soap DESPRATE HOUSEWIVES WHICH BEATS WHATEVER SHOW CBS PROGRAMS AT 9 BY 7 MILLION VIEWERS DH IS 15 MILLION SO TAKE THAT CBS

  12. S.

Julia, people that work on the shows are not stupid, but some people are delusional. Remember how entertaining Brooke Shields was around the time of the cancellation of Lipstick Jungle?

  13. Alex O'Loughlin's Biggest Fan

Dont worry! Us real fan know that the reason why there not airing the episodes now is because CBS is going to air the show after the superbowl! You read it here first. It will get, like, 50 million viewers, so CBS will need lots of new episodes to air in the winter to keep all of the new fans. CBS is not cancelling the show. Remember Moonlight? Millions of of stopped watching CBS after they cancelled our Alexs show, and there ratings went in the toilet! With Alex back on 3 Rivers, we’ve all come back to the network and thats why theyre ratings are up! Theirs no way theyll cancel a show with Alex again! Were already sending our panties and interpretive art based on the show to CBS! They know how powerful we are!

I agree with you Kim…..3R started out of the gate with a very bad premier eppy and it could not recover from it…..and I agree with you too Julia that the actors will now be able to move on and find another job…..

  15. S, of course, Brooke Shields is probably the last person on that show who was worried about being out of work.

  16. forg

Speaking of post Super Bowl slot (as the JBF spawn mentioned above) I can’t wait what CBS will choose for that slot.

As for the news, no surprise but at least all 13 episodes will be produced, maybe if CBS will air it, I imagine it being schedule it on Saturdays next year.

  17. Holly

I’m shocked it lasted this long. Why did CBS wait until after sweeps for this?

  18. Has CBS really not announced what will air post Super Bowl yet? Shouldn’t they already be selling ad time for that spot? My guess is they either go with NCIS or TBBT. Though if they really haven’t made any decision yet, it’ll probably be too late to have a one hour episode of TBBT, in which case they’ll just go with NCIS.

  19. Holly

^Maybe it will be announced with their mid-season schedule, which should be out soon.

This took longer than I thought! I was predicting three rivers to be the first axing of the year. Unfortunately I was wrong ;(. Although not officially announced I will call this an axing behind tbl, Hank, eastwick and trauma (sort of) – ive only included freshman dramas. The forgotten has lasted longer than I thought aswell, perhaps networks are being (a little more) patient?
