C’mon Days!!!! Loving the show more than ever. Thought it would die when Marlena & John were fired but I was wrong.
im mad right now atwt got to get it act together i watch this show everyday and im tired of seeing it at the bottom all the time now if the writers write good storylines then this should not be the problem and anther thing why did they add mick when he only play one a week they should at least have him on 3 day out the week to get gl fan duh right now im just tired of sitting a hour when the story use to be great
I am really surprised GH didnt go up more this week! Kinda disappointed
. Glad OLTL isnt at the bottom tho!
way to go days! lets keep up the momentum and kock bolod and beautiful out of the number 2 spot! this is excited (in a very wierd/soap opera nerd way)
yes way to go days it wont be long before days reclaims the#2 spot for good to take it away from b&b like days at the #2 spot in the mid 90s and stayed at 2 for like 3 – 4 years and #1 among women 18- am also corday is doing a great job and with the charcters of vivan justin and carly back they will get even higher ratings on a regular basis this should ensure nbc to keep days for many years to come now to get deidre and drake back i am glad that atwt is becoming the gl of daytime dead last in hh and women 18- 49 cbs will cancel that by the end of this month or in early 2010 cya cbyessssssssss
the way days is doing it wont be long b4 it overtakes the #1 spot away from the old and ugly aka b&b and y&r nbc is rocking with days thanks again corday and dena higley and her writing team way to go
Why is Y&R so much ahead of the other soaps in total viewers? Is it like the oldest soap or something?
Christian, I think its the second youngest. B&B is the yougest soap. Good for Days. The storyline they have going is great. Overall all the soaps expect for Y&R (who thinks they are riding on cloud nine when they are boring)are pulling out their best to save themselves from cancellation.
hmm…Days is really resurgent. NBC is probably really happy they decided not to cancel it last year.
Y&R was basically the last soap to have an up cycle in the late 1980s/early 1990s. When it started falling, it had much further to fall. But make no mistake, it’s ratings are half what they were 15 years ago.
days is really creeping up on B&B. thats really great that they were in 2nd place for hh ratings…and that it has been five and a half years since they have been in 2nd. I think this is more than just a ratings spike…days is strange in that it always gets so low that nbc threatens cancellation, then it bounces back again. to the poster above who said the ratings were half than 15 years ago…this is true…but one has to take into consideration that there is 5 times the competition for the networks than there was then. and the fact that these shows can hold up this well and still pull in a 7, 8, or more share of households is pretty decent. also most the primetime programs on the networks are like a quarter of what they would have been 15 years ago. Also the amount of households with tv has risen from 93 million in 1992 to 115 million now so a 2.3 rating now would be a 3.0 or higher back then. you have to consider all the facts when making general statements using measurements like “half” or whatever.
In fact, Days viewership is down 38% compared to 1990 numbers. Not quite half.
On the one hand GH had a lot happening; on the other hand there was a lot that was that just went over the same ground. The Franco story got odd and a bit interesting; the Lucky, Nicholas, Elizabeth triangle is a big snooze (All of a sudden Elizabeth has the hots for Nicholas, who cares. Let him have her already); Sonny and Olivia, ick. Give Lucky someone else or redeem Elizabeth. Enough of the “Lucky is going to kill us fantasies”. Olivia was good with Johnny. Not sure what to do with Dominic and Lulu. I like them together but they have painted them in a corner. And another woman from Patrick’s past. How boring. Write a story for Patrick and Robin that does not involve some woman from his past. General Hospital used to be really good when it combined adventure with comedy. Can’t anyone write that again?
I think I predicted that Days would overthrow B&B by next year; Way to go DAYS!! The three top soaps are well ahead of the others.
Y&R has the 12:30 pm advantage of the others.On CBS:Atlanta, Y&R airs @ 3pm.
I wonder how a primetime soap special would do. NBC could try a 45th anniversary episode next November in Primetime.
DAYS drew nearly 1,000,000 more viewers than this week’s episode of Gossip Girl did, at least in terms of “same day” viewers. A 30 percent larger audience for a daytime soap produced at a fraction of the cost of one hour of Gossip Girl.
Why again has NBC not already renewed this show?
Ways to go Days!
THEY WILL…they were just bullying the show because it’s been on the network so long and they are used to making tons of bucks off of it in the past.
Rob R…from what I saw Days beat gossip girl by 2 million. they had 3.2 million viewers last week and Gossip Girl had 1.1 mil.
I told you…. Days would reclaim the number 2 spot this week. Even though its a tie, it’s still NUMBER 2… Next weeks ratings should sore even higher due to Thanksgiving break.. aren’t they supposed to update the ratings on friday’s?? Can’t wait to see what happens… Congrats Days, even with a budget cut… your still holding on strong…
Hooray DAYS! I hope the big guns at NBC realize that DAYS still has plenty of sand left in the hourglass. Congratulations DAYS!
