The Ugly Betty news isn't exactly news, but here's the official press release including info on Shark Tank slotting into the Friday 9pm time period. Unless I missed an announcement there has still bee no new order pickup for Shark Tank but between three unaired episodes and leftover footage they have enough for 5 total new episodes.

“UGLY BETTY” MOVES TO WEDNESDAY NIGHTS STARTING JANUARY 6,
CAPPING OFF ABC COMEDY WEDNESDAY
“Shark Tank” Returns to the Schedule on Friday Nights, Beginning January 8
“Ugly Betty” is moving to Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m., ET beginning January 6, 2010, rounding out ABC Comedy Wednesday. “Shark Tank” will return to the schedule on Friday, January 8 from 9:00 p.m., ET.
“Ugly Betty” stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, Eric Mabius as Daniel Meade, Tony Plana as Ignacio, Ana Ortiz as Hilda, Judith Light as Claire Meade, Becki Newton as Amanda, Michael Urie as Marc, Mark Indelicato as Justin, Daniel Eric Gold as Matt Hartley and Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater.
Based on “Yo Soy Betty La Fea,” the groundbreaking Colombian telenovela that became an international phenomenon, “Ugly Betty” is from ABC Studios. The series has been awarded Emmy, Golden Globe, Peabody, NAACP, ALMA and Imagen awards and earned 19 Emmy nominations.
Executive producers are Silvio Horta (“Urban Legend”), Academy Award-nominee and Emmy Award winner Salma Hayek, Jose Tamez, Richard Heus, Victor Nelli Jr., Jon Kinnally, Tracy Poust, Henry Alonso Myers and Sheila Lawrence. Co-executive producers are Chris Black, Gail Lerner and Abraham Higgenbotham.
“Shark Tank” gives budding entrepreneurs a chance to make their business dreams come true and make them successful and possibly wealthy people. But first, the entrepreneurs must convince a panel of five ruthless, multi-millionaire tycoons – known as Sharks -- to part with their own hard-earned cash to give them the funding they need to jumpstart their breakthrough business concepts, products, properties and services.
The five Sharks are real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, “infomercial” industry pioneer Kevin Harrington, technology innovator Robert Herjavec, fashion icon Daymond John and financial expert Kevin O’Leary.
Mark Burnett, Clay Newbill and Phil Gurin are the executive producers of “Shark Tank,” based on the Japanese “Dragons’ Den” format created by Nippon Television Network Corporation. The series is from Sony Pictures Television.

Shark Tank? Wow, that’s awesome
The new ST episodes would only last about a month with no order. Could they make new episodes in time for them to air after the 5 ones already made?
The news is what is not reported. It looks like Eastwick’s last 2 episodes have no air date.
More Shark Tank (even if it is the dregs)? Fantastic!
OMG! This made my day I love Ugly Betty I love it love it love it, I’ll have to wait till Thursday to watch CSI:NY though, lol but I don’t care yeah!!!! UB all the way
looks like they’re testing out the consistency of shark tank
Shark Tank should return to the vacant 8 pm tuesday slot until Lost returns and ABC should return Wife Swap to 9 fridays. Though for January ABC could air Wife Swap Tuesdays at 8 then move the series when Lost retruns.
What rating will it take to get this show renewed? Would anything over a 1 do it?
Ive never seen an episode of shark tank is my life hhahahah
^What was that you were just saying in the renewal/cancel thread about commenters being negative?
Sweet, more Shark Tank. Sounds like a suitable time slot for it as well.

This is my best guess based on little pieces of what ABC has given us so far.
I believe I recall reading that they had 5 additional episodes ordered. Can’t remember when or when I read that though.
Ryan, I don’t believe additional episodes have been ordered, just that there was enough unused footage to assemble 5 more episodes, as Robert notes in the post.
I’m glad that they actually scheduled these 5 Shark Tank episodes – I was excited when I heard that they were going to produce more from leftover footage, but was skeptical that ABC would air them.
I love Betty!!!!!
shark tank will get eaten alive ratings wise on fridays and bomb worse than the tantic did bye abcya
Dave – If ABC has reality series like Shark Tank, they will use fridays to burn them off. Its likely this will be the end of Shark Tank but atleast we’ll see the eps. ABC is smart to schedule cheap reality series on fridays. Hopefully Wife Swap will return after Tank ends.
Fridays is where shows go to die…to bad, I liked shark tank….the canadian show dragons den is great and icludes kevin olery and robert. Its on cbc and worth watching. Has better production value than shark tank.
