What Barbara Walters wants Barbara Walters gets.

I don’t know if this is “caving”, because The View mentioned they’d have Adam on a few weeks ago.

(interesting how the performance is taped though, even though the show is live Monday – Thursday…)

  3. I’m glad Adam is going to be on The View. I can’t wait to see him argue with that right wing Barbie doll Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

  4. AppleStinx

Hmmm… did ABC really cave? They effectively clipped his little wings; he’ll be there on their terms and under control via taped performance. I guess entities like GLADD would gloat even if ABC had asked the guy to be a guest janitor. By the way, Elizabeth will be polite – we wouldn’t want to see Adam sob, would we?

Lambert has wasted no time jumping off the reservation and into that raunchy, “envelope pushing” territory that is going to be far away from the “mainstream.” If that’s what he wants to do, go for it — but don’t expect to sell records doing it…or have much of a career outside of a cult following.

Is abc going to finally unveil their midseason schedule or we’re gonna have to guess what’s on tv week by week?

  7. Len Davis, Billboard is reporting that sales increased after AMA performance.

  8. tom

won’t someone please think of the children

  9. Children in Europe are exposed to sexual acts all of the time. They see it in public all of the time in France. Only in America, do we consider a guy pushing another guys face in front of his crotch more offensive than showing a guy blowing stuff up on tv. It’s hypocritical.

  10. FYI: Melissa Etheridge supports Adam Lambert

“He’s got no path to follow. He’s making his own path. He’s going to make mistakes and he”s not going to please everybody. I think what we’re seeing is we’re finally seeing that artist who is out from the beginning.”

Lambert’s debut on Billboard Hot 100 Album chart was #3. The guy that won AI was #11. And NO I don’t own it and wouldn’t waste my $$$ on it. Shock and controversy garners attention = ratings = dollars. Looks like Adam has learned a thing or two from Glen Beck! And it will be hilarious to watch Elizabeth Hasslebeck try and keep her head from exploding. Her passive aggressive doe eyed angered is a riot. Hope the poor thing can handle promoting someone she should be thankful she has to judge.

This will be one interesting episode. Parenthood, time is better spent @ defending proper causes. Not because something negative is more profound, gives the other equal right.

It is said prevention and better than cure.

I just love the way the venom comes out towards Hasselbeck. God forbid there is one dissenting or different view in the world. Without her on the show it would have to be changed to….”the COMPLETE left-wing view.” It’s already unbalanced with a 3 to 1 against. You don’t really get a pulse on America with such a biased, ignorant, emotion driven, one sided panel. Just ashame that so many viewers are deceived every dsy into believing the Obama style vision of America.

Yes, this has certainly NEVER worked for anyone. Madonna has had only a small cult following for the past 25 years since she humped the stage at the VMAs. Michael Jackson’s crotch grabbing alienated him from the mainstream and he died a nobody. Britney’s flesh-colored suit at the VMAs ensured she’d never sell another record.

Seriously, this is the dumbest thing to say. Every artist pushes the envelope in hopes of gaining exposure, and it’s clearly worked for Adam – just like it worked for MANY others who are still famous and successful today.

I didn’t believe that he’s not allowed bull for sec. Once his records starting raking in that cash, ABC was gonna change their minds.

That’s why FCC lookin’ protesters suck!

  16. Johnny

Can’t blame ABC for taping the interview.

  17. Ceviche

Not a particular fan of Lambert, but I found the uproar about his performance silly.

And it seems not to be affecting his sales, he is outselling the much more mainstream winner who beat him this past season on AI by more than 3 times

  18. Are you kidding? He’s the best singer American Idol has ever had. And apparently someone agrees with me.

“Why? Because he covers a wider variety of genres from rock to broadway. Sure, we have Kelly, Carrie and Jennifer who are great singers. But, I can’t imagine any of them trying to go from rock to broadway music. Simon also said that he thinks that Adam is the best singer AI has ever had.”

  19. Wikky

Six months from now no one will remember his name. Yawn.

  20. You’re wrong about that. He’s just like Carrie Underwood in the sense that he’ll be remembered long after American Idol.
