Jersey Shore averaged 1.375 million viewers and a 0.8/2 A18-49 rating in its premiere. It was stronger with adults 18-34, where it got a 1.2/4 rating/share.

Could we get a half hour breakdown? I think it was a 2 hour premiere; probably a lot more people watching at 10 PM vs. 11:30 PM.

maybe if this had been shown in the summer it could have done better… I don’t care to see people traipsing around outside shirtless in the dead of winter… on the other hand, the guys aren’t too bad to look at without said shirts:)

Will be interesting to see the ratings for next week. I had no idea about the show but tuned in and found it hysterical. I’ve told everyone I know how hilarious it is. It was also a trending topic on twitter, that could cause an upswing next week.
The show needs more pasta fazul….thats all.
This show sucked. The people were annoying and arrogant and made the people on The Real World look awesome.

I thought this show was going to be the highest rated program in the history of MTV. Seriously. It looked too good to be true. Maybe it’s a grower and will build an audience through word of mouth.
It was pretty good, but the two hour running time was a little ridiculous. And unexpected. They had me at “I’m the Kim Kardashian of Staten Island!”…which one would normally think was one of the harshest put-downs of all time.
With The Hills and The City tanking this season, is there anything on MTV that gets good ratings anymore?
I don’t know about the rest of the country, but I’m from New Jersey and every single person I’ve spoken to in the past 2 days watched this premiere. I have never watched an MTV original series in my life, and I only knew about this one because of complaints from an Italian American association about use of the word “guido.” But this show is what everyone thinks Jersey is: loud, obnoxious, delusional, oversexed, unintelligent, drunk, disgusting, and superficial.
And I will continue to watch, just to see the episode where Snooki gets the crap beat out of her by some guy at a bar.

2nd week swing…the publicity has been huge this week, and I’m pretty sure the rating will match this Thursday…nobody’s missing this car crash.
I think DVR numbers will be huge (comparatively) for this as well. EVERYONE in Jersey is watching… and never underestimate the power of our state. Look what it did for The Real Housewives franchise: NJ became the most-watched and most-talked-about season ever. I imagine the same will happen for this trainwreck.
