SURVIVOR + REBROADCASTS OF CSI AND THE Mentalist = THURSDAY NIGHT VICTORY AGAINST FIRST-RUN COMPETITON

Airing against all first-run programming on the competition, CBS was first Thursday night in viewers and key demos, powered by a time-period winning SURVIVOR and two rebroadcasts of CSI (6.4/10, 9.88m), and THE Mentalist (7.1/12, 10.72m), according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings forThursday, Dec 3.

SURVIVOR: SAMOA won its time period in households (7.5/12), viewers (12.75m), adults 25-54 (4.8/12) and adults 18-49 (3.9/11), and should be the #1 program in households, viewers and adults 25-54 if ratings hold.  For the night, CBS was first in households (7.0/11), viewers (11.12m), adults 25-54 (3.6/09) and tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.9/08, with ABC).

    Now that The Mentalist has proved itself again, for 2010-2011, CBS should move the established drama to the vacant Sundays at 9 slot, so they actually have competition there.
