ADAM LAMBERT RETURNS TO FOX TO PERFORM
ON THE “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE” SEASON FINALE
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16
TOP 6 FINALISTS TO COMPETE DURING FINAL SHOWDOWN
BEGINNING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15
The night America has been waiting for is almost here! The SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE two-night season finale airs Tuesday, Dec. 15(8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Dec. 16 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX, and some of the year’s hottest performers – including American Idol’s Adam Lambert – are set to take the stage. Lambert will sing his latest track, “Whataya Want From Me,” in his first appearance on the network since the American Idol season finale in May.
Adam Lambert captured the attention of the nation this year during the eighth season of American Idol. Throughout his much-celebrated IDOL journey, Lambert surprised and impressed the judges every week with his takes on various musical genres. His out-of-this-world vocal range and unique musical style has helped Lambert conquer the Billboard charts with multiple debuts on the Hot 100 and the Hot Digital Songs charts. His first album, “For Your Entertainment” (19 Recordings/RCA), recently debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Charts with 198,469 albums sold in the first week.
Tuesday’s final performance show will feature the ultimate showdown between the Top 6 finalists as they compete to impress the judges and capture America’s vote. Immediately following the performance show, the phone lines will open and viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite remaining finalists. Then, tune in the following night for one of the most-anticipated television events of the fall.
Wednesday’s two-hour grand finale will feature surprise guests and special performances by this season’s Top 20. At the end of the celebration, host Cat Deeley will reveal America’s vote and America’s Favorite Dancer will be crowned live before millions of television viewers. The winner will dance off with a cash prize of $250,000 and will be featured on the cover of the March 2010 issue of Dance Spirit magazine.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and dick clarkproductions. The series is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Barry Adelman.

It will be very interesting to see if the finale next wedensdauy can draw a 3.0 in the demo the second hour. Personally, I think that will be huge factor in dertermining its FALL 10 chances, or if it will be Summer 10…
The producers trying to cash in on a controversy while playing the part of the “Equalizer” by helping the naughty kid get the treats he thinks he’s entitled to. I don’t think they can lose because people who’s been following the show won’t quit the finale because of the kid, while others will tune in precisely because of him.
The REAL coup would be Adam paired with Derek on “Dancing With The Stars”.
Looks like the Adam Lambert controversy has benefitted him. Its seems every network wants to book him for something.
Fox created the bandwagon. XD
I for one Am tired of hearing about Adam Lambert. I really feel sorry for Kris Allen who won American Idol. He is not getting any promotion and his CD sold under 90,000 copies the first week. To me Adam is trying to play the victim and gay discrimination but many of the gay men I know don’t even find him appealing at all. So the real question that I have is how will all of this effect American Idol being that 19 productions/rca sign the winners to contracts and don’t even promote them? Was the vote of the finally a sham or what?
Oh, I can’t wait to see Adam Lambert. I heard he’s learned a lot since the AMA’s. I’m ready to give him another chance (you have to allow people to learn and grow from their mistakes).
I think Lambert will be fine if he just gays it up a bit more. Get a bit more flaming. Maybe get a bit louder with his FU to the parents who let their kids stay up to see the American Idol contender. Hey what am I saying….Its all about Adam…he had fun, which is his only consideration.
Michael That is right he has had no support from the majority of gay people. The support he has had is mainly from straight females of all ages including some straight males of all ages. This kind of popularity for an over the top gay performer has confused people. He is news he is popular, articulate, interesting and controversial also very talented that is why he is in the news. Chris has been doing quite a lot of publicity if you check his itinerary and people say he will do well. He is more laid back etc., a different kind of performer. All this is not Adam’s fault he is being promoted mainly by the media and his fantastic vocals. Especially being a gay singer even in this day and age if he didn’t have charisma and talent etc. he would be history.
I am trying to figure out why it matters that gay people don’t like/support/listen to Adam(according to someone here)….Talk about an unwarranted opinion that makes no sense. Do I have to be gay to like him? Should I be gay or straight if I like Lady Gaga? Kings of Leon? The Beatles? What has that got to do with anything? Adam sells over 200k, Kris sells 90k… that is what matters. Give people what they want to watch and listen to. I suppose CD sales don’t matter either? Just more greatly opinionated, yet ignorant people who feel they are entitled to slam whomever they want, whenever they want. If people feel Kris is more worthy, then get out there and buy his CD – prove the rest of us wrong by giving him some more support.
I am sure TPTB know all the numbers and know where to put their support and their artists… we will never know those numbers so we’ll have to rely on CD sales.
