A little interesting that Jay Leno didn’t see any adjustment in his numbers from the prelim figures…
Damn Jay is a loser. BL had almost 16 million viewers at 9:30pm and Jay only got half of the audience. Comcast thank you for letting this show go.
Travis had the 15 min numbers for Ted as well:
Scrubs 9:15-9:30
- 4.778 million viewers
- 3.0/5 HH
- 2.0/5 A18-49
(decided to include because there was such a severe 20% drop for Scrubs in its second 15 minutes across all 3 categories that it makes the BOT numbers slightly less terrible to look at, retention-wise)
9:30-9:45
- 3.964 million viewers
- 2.6/4 HH
- 1.6/4 A18-49
9:45-10:00
- 3.679 million viewers
- 2.4/4 HH
- 1.5/4 A18-49
90210 was really good last night, the best of the whole season but I expected people would rather watch the fat people on NBC. I see absolutely no appeal to that show whatsoever! Its disgusting that they take their shirts off when they get weighed. And poor Melrose Place. While it maintains its 0.7 demo, the viewing numbers keep going down! I really hope it picks back up in January.
Better Off Ted didnt hold onto much of its Scrubs audience like it did last season. I really hope it can do better. Im at least glad Prep & Landing did excellent. I recorded it last night and cant wait to watch!
Wait, so Scrubs dropped from 2.5/2.6 to 2.0 over the half hour?
That looks far more like Prep viewers slowly changing the dial than Scrubs picking up viewers from last week.
Still, even that 2.0 is better than I expected.
I know the numbers are terrible for BoT, but I was wondering if there’s a small glimmer of hope. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Scrubs and BoT do pretty well with the hard to reach male demos, and that was some of the reason for their renewal. I was wondering if they show similar trends this season, would they still have a shot at coming back (Ted more so than Scrubs)?
MC, at least for last night, BOT specific age/gender ratings were scattered all around its overall A18-49 rating of 1.5, with no clear “bonus” demo. It’s M18-49 rating was a 1.6, W18-49 a 1.5. It’s highest rating we see was a 1.8 for M25-54, its lowest a 0.4 for F12-17.
I just knew in my heart that ‘Better Off Ted’ was a better retainer out of ‘Scrubs’ given its past performance.
It looks like a goodly number of viewers and A18-49s switched over to ‘The Biggest Loser’ at 9:15 pm.
‘Better Off Ted’ fans can take a small rejoice in these numbers that the numbers will go up next week when Ted faces ‘NCIS:LA’, ‘The Sing-Off’ and ‘The Cook-along’, with nary a weight-reducing ‘Biggest Loser’ in sight.
Oh, huge drop on the last 15 minutes of Scrubs. I think Ted will settle at the 1.5, maybe good enough for all episodes to air I guess.
Better Off Ted is hilarious, hope the numbers improve. Is BOT produced by ABC like Scrubs is?
Josh, BOT is produced by Fox.
Scrubs is doing better than I thought it would, both in the ratings and the show itself. But I’d say the ratings will drop after Zach Braff’s 6 episode arc ends.
What’s with folks continuing to think Melrose Place will improve? Every week someone is sprouting some reason the show will get better: retooled writing, new timeslot, Heather’s return, a new year… Let’s just face the fact that while the show is mildly entertaining viewers don’t care to tune into the show. Half the time I don’t even know why I’m watching it. It’s not as smart or witty as the original was and the new kids are mostly boring and pathetic. The only draw for me is seeing the appearances of the old characters from the original cast and that’s a real problem. I’m not some older adult who was a part of the whole Melrose craze back in the day. I’m a young person who is exactly who the CW is targeting and even I find the show to be a sloppy mess.
Melrose Place is a really good show, better than 90210. The characters are so much consistent…
It’s such a shame that is doing so bad…
Bye Bye MELROSE PLACE. Face it CW, nobody wanted this reboot… viewers like some quality with their shows.
Thanks Bill
i can tell “better off Ted” is done after its first episode, melrose is really good, too bad it isnt catching on, and i agree 90210 had its best episode last night, and i think the last of viewers is because its xmas season and people are out shopping, and plus to be honest i just came accross 90210, i thought it was in reruns….
“Lack” not Last lol
Cancel the damn Better Off Ted show. Last season it ended with a .6 18-49 rating. Why does ABC take so long to cancel shows that are clearly garbage ex. Hank.
BOT is a funny show too bad its not doing better
yeah i think it needs a new slot or to be yanked
and i am a huge fan.
