When am I gonna start talking about late night again?
Zzzzzzz
Kimmel blows.
This is the best that Kimmel can do? He’s show comes out 30 mins earlier than Ferguson late late show does, not exactly impressive.
Everything television was down last week and I don’t know why. Even Fox news #’s were down and that’s unusual!
Hey Jon, how about right now? Since you kinda are already…
But why the surge in Kimmel’s numbers? I know it isn’t much of a surge, but it is there. He bested Fallon for the last couple of weeks, now he’s beating Ferguson (which isn’t as much as a surprise as Ferguson’s numbers… man, that show is awful!).
I haven’t heard a peep from any friends who used to watch Kimmel since that Matt Damon thing, but that was like 3 years ago. Nonexistent fan buzz.
I think Nightline’s new good numbers are helping ABC to put their spin on Kimmel’s. I don’t believe anyone actually watches it. It’s really boring, repetitive and Kimmel looks sickly.
With Letterman in reruns last week, I’m sure ABC got a slight bump from 11:30 onwards. Strange that CBS aired new shows of Fergie, without new Letterman. I wonder how many assumed that Fergie was in reruns because Dave was.
Ferguson is incredibly funny and his interviews are like watching two people having a real conversation. I just wish he would stay away from the hideously mean political jokes. I can take political jokes but when are these guys going to figure out that the entire country isn’t liberal? He should stick to his own style and stop trying to copy his boss David Letterman in the meanness department.
Mel:
I tape his show every night and I can tell you that Ferguson doesn’t care at all politicians, as he considers them fake and phony. When one messes up, he revels in it, because the people of American elect them for a service for certain values and they are really liars. Specially due to his belief of America as a country, it greatly upsets him. And being the show is mostly Ferguson unleashing his personal thoughts at rapid quick succession, well, you’re gonna get nothing but Craig’s opinions. Now, Letterman uses his writers more in a common sense than Craig does so Letterman pushes his writers to say mean things. Ferguson just gets frustrated and like any other american by a water cooler, lets it go. Difference is, his water cooler is his tv show.
Well said, Nick! Craig has always used that kinda tongue and cheek humor and he really doesn’t talk politics as much as he used too.
I’m in love with the Ferguson show. He’s unique and not arrogant like Kimmel seems. And if he’s only getting beaten by Kimmel once every few months, let’s just chalk that up to luck. Kimmel’s show is very played out. Uncles, cousins, same tired ol clips – never been a fan but it’s gotten worse with age. Let’s get some real comedy in that spot, or I guess I’ll just keep watching my dogg Craig.
Comparing the chump Kimmel to the genius Ferguson is like comparing Thomas Kinkade to Leonardo da Vinci. Some people fall for Kimmel’s brand of art but it isn’t anyone with taste, intelligence or sense.
Not to be picky, but isn’t the first half of Kimmel up against Letterman and O’Brien? Letterman was in repeats, O’Brien is unwatchable, and desperate people turned to Kimmel at midnight.
Kimmel shouldn’t even be allowed to host a show on QVC. He’s boring as balls and comes off as a know it all a-hole. He’s even worse at holding my attention than Carson Daly and that’s almost mathematically impossible.
My wife thinks he looks like a strung out Fred Flintstone. HAHA! I mean come on, does everyone deserve to host a talk show? The economy is too f’d to pay this guy to suck!
Wait, how exactly is ABC bragging about beating a show for the first time in 9 mos? A show whose host started hosting after Kimmel did? A show that begins 30 mins later?
Let’s brag about our retarded son who farted louder than the normal boy!
I have to say I like Kimmel. I’ve been watching him for years – way before he got “buzz” from the Matt Damon thing. I think he’s very funny and his show happens to make me laugh more than the others (Ferguson, Fallon) which I’ve sampled in the past. No one beats Dave Letterman IMO, but Jimmy’s show is very funny to me. JMO.
craigs numbers were down because Letterman’s numbers dropped by about 1 million for reruns.
Lead-in is a huge factor. Fallon caught up in the demo’s last week too.
I don’t know, Craig did alright for his lead in Letterman being in reruns. Looking forward to his 1000th show on Tuesday. Man he has some devoted fans out there. They make him the most sexiest host, and there is a poll out as to who is the funniest comic and they got him up there and there is a twitter thing going on now in honor of tomorrows show. I don’t recall Jimmys fans going all out for him like this.
That great about Fergie, Jody! Kimmel’s fans are coming around to the fact he sucks. How ABC hasn’t yet, is beyond me.
