The upcoming CBS Jerry Bruckheimer drama formerly known as Miama Trauma will be called Miami Medical according to TV MoJoe. Since CBS has still yet to unveil its midseason schedule, we're not yet sure when it will air. Hopefully we'll find out soon enough! When/where CBS will air Miami Medical is one of the few mysteries remaining with CBS' mid-season schedule.
The name change makes complete sense, even if it is kind of boring. We can understand why CBS would not want to take any risk whatsoever that somehow the show would be confused with the soon-to-be-off-the-schedule ratings dog that is NBC's Trauma.

So good move for them. Not that I actually *like* medical shows.
Depending on how many episodes have been ordered, ‘Miami Medical’ might make a sympatico scheduling partner with the unaired ‘Three Rivers’ episodes, perhaps in the springtime when CBS is down to brass tacks in their upfront preparations.
Forg, Kelly Kahl, Sr. Exec. VP of CBS Primetime, responded to that rumor on Twitter. As he said, don’t believe everything you see on Twitter. I believe Robert or Bill said that their sources at CBS said we would have to wait for January.
Julia, what I was told aside from the disclaimers (nothing official to say on the subject, subject to change, etc) was December, probably before Christmas for the mid-season schedule and early January around the TCA tour as far as announcing what would air after the Super Bowl.
Miami Trauma has a 13 episode order. I been following the casting calls for each episode. I wonder what night the show will air.
CSI: Miami Trauma or NCIS: Miami Trauma.
Interesting name change. Good idea to lose the “Trauma” part.
But, with the massive glut of medical shows this fall and already established medical shows, I really can’t see this show making a dent in the ratings. Les Moonves was stupid to greenlight 2 medical shows this fall.

Well, it seems that if you want a medical or any show to succeed on CBS it has to read Jerry Bruckheimer. I happened to like Three Rivers but I had that sinking feeling that CBS only aired it until they could shape up the Bruckheimer series they had waiting in the wings. What a waste of a great cast of actors. I am hoping they find an audience for this new baby. I won’t be one of them.
