    Hey Bill, how did paranormal state do on Tuesday???

  2. AppleStinx

    Of course the press release ignored: “Nightline” lost to “Tonight Show” in A18-49.

    AppleStinx: why would a press release mention losing to something else? it doesn’t work like that. but be honest… tonight show is such a flaccid penis these days… i’m amazed the numbers haven’t gone up.

    and what happened to letterman? why was his week so good? usually nightline wins in viewers and edges in demo

  4. AppleStinx

    Yes, Tom. Perhaps I should have done the ‘/sarcasm on’ ‘/sarcasm off’ thingy. :grin:

    I’d love Seinfeld to be the Tonight Show host. That’d make perfect sense and return that franchise back to the respectability of Carson.

    Truth is, late night in general is a flaccid penis, Tom. Ferguson is the only guy with any real flare in the network world, with Maher and Stewart still bringing the goods on cable.

    I look at a guy like Jimmy Kimmel and wonder who he’s got dirt on at ABC to still be on the air. So tired and played out, so unoriginal and it just irks me that people still tolerate such mediocrity.

    Ok, I’m done.

    Kimmel = Blech

    As I said in a different post, I think Craig Ferguson should be named Tonight Show host. His opening monologes are very funny and he is good at interviewing. Conan is a nice person but to me his version of the show isn’t working at the earlier hour. NBC can’t go on much longer getting clobbered by Letterman and Nightline. If they could get Ferguson, I believe he would soon have very high ratings.

    Craig has his fans at 12:30, but I honestly don’t believe that his show would translate well to the Tonight Show. Even more so than Conan. If people criticize Conan for being too “weird” I really don’t think they’d take to Ferguson any better.

    Certainly Craig will be a front-runner for the Late Show when Letterman leaves, and I think if he gets the gig, we’ll see him having the exact same problems that Conan’s having right now.
