Saturday Night Live hosted by James Franco and featuring musical guest Muse, averaged a 4.4 household rating/11 share in metered-market households.
That's slightly below this fall's typical preliminary metered-market household ratings for SNL of a 4.7 HH rating.

Hope those numbers don’t discourage SNL from having hosts over the age of 30.
i fell asleep after weekend update and didn’t get to see muse perform the second time
Muse was fantastic!
SNL introduced me to MUSE! OMG I’m 16 and now I’m in love with them! They are so awesome!
I’m glad this rated well. Mr. Franco is a talented host, and he really lifted a few of the sketches. And the performances by Muse were excellent.

Alumni, Alec Baldwin, and Christopher Walken will always have a spot on SNL waiting for them at least.
That’s too bad- this was the first actual good show of the season.
Here’s hoping this season improves in 2010.
And all the sketches were not new. They used some of James Francos appearances from last year, and rounded it out with Muse, and a new opening monolog and new Weekend Update.
Cheap way to get a ‘new’ episode.
Muse was the highlight of the show for sure
I tuned in for Muse and I wasn’t disappointed.
SNL is a mediocre show with mediocre talent. I’ve learned not to expect much and this year I was not disapointed.
James Franco is a cutie. SNL sucks, but I must say that the kissing sketch turned me on a bit
