A Nintendo Wii Golf Charity Fundraiser Benefitting the

American Heart Association

Chuck” returns to NBC Sunday, January 10, 2010, and We Heart Chuck (WHC) is welcoming the spy-action-comedy show’s third season by hosting a weekend-long charitable celebration, CHUCKFEST 2010.

CHUCKFEST 2010 is a “Chuck”-themed Nintendo Wii Golf charity tournament benefiting the Los Angeles and San Diego, CA chapters of the American Heart Association (AHA).  The event allows “Chuck” fans to support their favorite show while simultaneously raising awareness and funds for a worthy cause.

The weekend festivities kick off Saturday, January 9th, with a Nintendo Wii Golf Tournament at The Meeting Room in Los Angeles. Lunch and refreshments will be served and a marathon of “Chuck” episodes from the first two seasons will be playing while participants compete for the GRAND PRIZE. On Sunday January 10th, eight GRAND PRIZE winning players will be awarded a meet and greet with  the show’s cast including Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez, Yvonne Strahovski, Sarah Lancaster, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Vik Sahay, & Scott Krinsky. Two other contestants will each win the RUNNER-UP  PRIZE, a Nintendo Wii gaming system.

The entry fee for the Nintendo Wii golf tournament is $125 per person, and all participants receive a bag of party favors including a reserved-seating pass for Sunday’s fan premiere event.  Fans who are not participating in the Nintendo Wii tournament are encouraged to come down, watch the competition, learn about heart health, enter for AHA door prizes, and join in the “Chuck” marathon.

The weekend will cap off with a WHC fan premiere party at the House of Blues in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 10.  Tickets can be purchased online for $20 with proceeds benefitting the AHA, please note that seating is limited.  There will be food (courtesy of Subway Restaurants) and games, leading up to the season three premiere at 9 p.m. on NBC.  Come support the American Heart Association by watching the most heart-warming show on television with fellow “Chuck” fans.

Online registration for the Nintendo Wii Golf Tournament and fan premiere party begins December 14th .  Visit the following link for registration purposes: http://is.gd/5ezn9.  Official rules and regulations, as well as additional details, can be found at www.weheartchuck.com.

A tip of the hat to We Heart Chuck (WHC) for this endeavor. My best wishes to them for a successful, fun time in support of a worthy cause.

    :-)

  2. Nightstar

Oh, and what a nice Grand Prize, too… that’s great (and great of the actors to participate) :-)

  3. evelyn27

Man, Chuck, cast, crew, and it’s fans are so awesome. (No, I’m not calling myself awesome, even though I’m a huge Chuck fan.)

  4. Jack

Been hearing about this for a long time. Great that they got everything worked out. Never seen fans work so hard for something. Best of luck. I will be attending.

  5. Nightstar

You’re a lucky person, Jack, if you are attending. I hope you have a blast and, if you compete, I hope you win — and tell everyone on this board how much fun it was to meet the cast and crew :-) Good luck and enjoy!

evelyn27 — go ahead and call yourself awesome, why not? It’s a new year, so start out by giving yourself an “awesome” day or two! :-)

  6. I wish I lived in the States because I’d have gone to that great event. I’m half-decent at Wii Golf too. Oh well.

Such a worthy cause and just goes to prove once again that Chuck fans are the best in the world.

All the best to WeHeartChuck, I hope you guys make a LOT of money.

  7. Emily

So glad all the other members of the cast are joining in and it should be a fun event for all the fans. See you there Jack and hopefully we can both win :)

  8. Please, Step away from the Meat.

Doesnt matter, Chucks ratings will be lower than before and then it will be axed. Even NBC has a point at which it wont keep a show on the air.

NBC is only keeping Law & Order around so it can claim the longest running drama series overtaking GUNSMOKE. James Arness is spinning in his grave. Ok, he is still alive but looks like he is dead.

Meat – you should take your avatar advice.

This post is about a charity event not ratings.

    Thanks for the fish though.

  10. Please, Step away from the Meat.

Actually, its a about a fan site called Weheartchuch.com and the whole purpose of it is to infer it will somehow boost ratings at the same time. Other fans of shows like Jericho did several charity events as well trying to get exposure for that show. It doesnt say that but you know thats what they are thinking. Its good that the money will be going to charity, but it wont save Chuck.

This whole site about ratings numbers, hence TVbytheNumbers.com

  11. Jimmy

Gotta love the haters. I love how they excuse their piss poor behavior by masking it by saying this is a rating site only! It’s good the site creators don’t pay attention to these bozos since the tool is criticizing Robert at the same time.

  12. Chris

Great idea! I just signed up for the viewing party.

  13. dan

    “Weheartchuch.com”
    LOLZ^

its a great idea, hope it works out

  14. Jack

Meat, you are so right. How dare they try to raise money for charity? And how dare the actors on the show help out? Worst of all how dare the studio and network support them in the hopes that it makes for good PR?

  15. Jack

Looks like they just added Adam Baldwin to the list.

  16. Tiger Woodz - Next on Cheaters

Chuck is overexposed on this site. Raising money for charity is a good thing, but other Save Our Show efforts have also done these types of charity events and never get mentioned. I think thats the problem some people have with this non stop Chuck cheerleading.

The American Heart Association isnt really a charity, though its referred to as one, its more of a non profit group that spreads information about heart health and CPR training and such. Its also a government lobbying group that spends much of its money trying to get federal grant dollars and lobbying for National Healthcare to funnel more money to cardiac surgeons. The CEO of the American Heart Association makes over $1,000,000 [charitynavigator.org] from a year (not to mention how much top management makes – they make mid 6 figures). Now if they used most of the money to help pay for the poor to get heart transplants and heart surgery – then I would call it a charity. This is a common problem in hospitals and health advocacy groups – just being non profit doesnt mean its a charity.

  17. Emily

Now everyone going gets to meet the cast.
