Will Obama State of the Union Pre-empt Lost's Final Season Premiere?

There's absolutely no chance that Obama will pick Groundhog Day to give his State of the Union address and bump the premiere of the final season of ABC's Lost.

Or is there?

TV MoJoe writes the dates for this year's State of the Union address are being finalized and January 26 and February 2 are under consideration.   Me, I'm just happy he's not planning on bumping Chuck from its regular time-slot premiere on Monday.  Last year, the Monday after the Chuck "3D" episode Obama did take to the air, which some believe killed whatever momentum Chuck had built up following the promotion for the 3D episode.

I don't think there's any chance President Obama will want to give the State of the Union address on Groundhog Day (even if it is TV MoJoe's birthday!) .  I don't think that has anything to do with fear of pissing off Lost fans either.  There are just too many potentially bad metaphors to choose from between the movie Groundhog Day and the possibility that the groundhog sees his shadow and goes back into his burrow.
