SYFY PRESENTS MARATHON OF
1960S SCI-FI CULT CLASSIC, THE INVADERS,
MONDAY, JANUARY 18, FROM 8AM-7PM (ET/PT)
New York, NY -- January 12, 2010 -- David Vincent has seen them. Returning home after a hard day, the architect parks his car in an old ghost town to rest. He is awakened in the middle of the night by a spacecraft landing nearby. From this moment, Vincent will risk his life to persuade a skeptical world that Earth has been invaded by aliens from a dying planet, who have taken human form as an advance guard paving the way for the ultimate conquest of the planet. The nightmare has begun.
Syfy is bringing back the 1960s sci-fi cult classic, The Invaders, for a special 11-episode marathon on Monday, January 18, from 8AM-7PM (ET/PT). The series, which starred Roy Thinnes -- who claimed to have seen a UFO during the filming of the series -- ran for two seasons on ABC from 1967-68.
Executive produced by Quinn Martin (The Fugitive, The Streets of San Francisco), The Invaders featured a veritable Who’s Who of the era’s leading actors in recurring and guest roles, including Edward Asner, Suzanne Pleshette, Michael Rennie, Dabney Coleman, Harold Gould, William Windom, Diana Hyland and Susan Oliver.
Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site (www.Syfy.com), and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in 95 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)

I wonder if Syfy has been looking at the numbers from the V and latest Twilight Zone marathons and thinking, these are just as good as our original programming numbers and cheaper too. This is a nice cheap way to fill up so programming time. Hope it works for them.
I hope SYFY cancels ALL of their original programming and original movies. Bring back The Incredible Hulk too!
Incredible Hulk is on RTN and DVD.
Both seasons of The Invaders is out on DVD.
Amen, Monica.
What a mess the sci fi programing has become. What on earth (haha) does wrestling and ghost hunting have to do with SCIENCE FICTION? The ‘made for’ movies are barely above 2nd grade viewing.
Sci Fi was once my most favorite channel. Now, I barely watch it. I turn in when they run Dr Who, Stargate or Atlantis marathons, but that’s it.
Are you listening Sy Fy? Oh, and change the name back to SC FI!! The on fantasy ya got goin’ on is that true sci fiers are watching you.
SyFy usually puts marathons on holidays, and Jan. 18 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
EXCELLENT!
I hope that this INVADERS marathon gets a lot of viewers who haven’t seen the show before (or, at least, who haven’t seen it in a long time). THE INVADERS was a superior series that deserves all the respect it gets.
I remember the days when The Sci-Fi Channel ran a LOT of vintage shows. Outside of the TWILIGHT ZONE marathons that seem to be a holiday staple, it’s so very rare to see them do something like this. Especially since they haven’t run THE INVADERS in ages!
Well done, Syfy! And how often have many people said THAT, recently?
Even though “THE INVADERS”(ABC 1967-68 A Quinn-Martin Production) is now out on DVD in the official release, it still is always good for other media outlets like SyFy to have a several-episode marathon of the show. This may yet stimulate more DVD sales because of other people’s renewed interest. Good work!!
I so agree with Nanc! I look forward to The Invaders.
I’ve been thinking recently, what happened to all of the old series that Sci-Fi ran in the earlier days?
I fought with my cable service for close to a year to get Sci-Fi added, but now I rarely watch it. Their programming has become so really strange. I flip over in my guide every day to see, but it’s constantly the one of the ghost series or the wrestling crap. (I realize wrestling is fiction, but science fiction??? No!!)
They seriously need to pull the rubbish and get back to real SF, even if it is 40 years old.
