I agree with u. The only shows that can move around and have pretty much the same ratings are those shows. They have a huge following that will follow with it. Fringe only had ONE season under its belt and FOX decided to throw it to the wolves? Dumb idea. It hadnt built a true following yet. But hopefully it will be renewed and get a better time slot the next time ago.

Keep it coming though, not a bad show to model yourself on IMHO.

Well, it certainly doesn’t hurt… Still, Fringe’s survival will depend heavily on how much space Fox has on its schedule next fall.

By the end of last season, UB was hoovering around a 2.0. That’s better than The Deep End and about par with Flash Forwards last (and lowest-rated) episode (but well under FF’s average).

However, given the downward trend of most broadcast shows (including UB which lost about .5 year to year from the 2007-08 season to the 2008-09 season), there is no reason to think that UB would still be getting the same ratings this year even in the same time slot.

I feel like PP and Brothers & Sisters are GA’s and DH’s bastard children, always have been. It’s nice to know though that they can hold their own even though both lead-ins seem to subside.

Oh and on the renewal note, I know for sure that GA will go on til May 2012, so at least for two more seasons after this one. But seeing how it’s more than probable that Katherine Heigl will leave after this season I don’t think GA will be going away with dignity.
Same for B&S (Rob Lowe is leaving, Calista’s future is uncertain), and DH (Orson and Angie’s family will leave and Delany’s contract also runs out this year…) Seems like ABC’s best bet are PP and Castle right now.

After all, never know when one of those new shows might turn into the next Castle, right Bill?

igotid88, unlikely. While I am certainly guilty of trying to paint the picture of shows pitted against each other for survival, whether or not its true, the only time that even seems to make sense is if the shows have borderline ratings. Flashforward finished the fall with a 2.1 rating, TDE started with a 1.8. For ABC dramas, both of those ratings = cancellation. ABC would rather take its chances with a new show than bring a ratings dog back.

I’m undecided on how I feel about it…I like the wordle, but I’m a bit ‘meh’ on the color scheme. Maybe do the next one with a little more color.

Second, your description of a lower tier schools as crappy fails to recognize that the tier system is based largely on the amount of money that is given to a school by alumni, not on the quality of the education.

Third, you act as if anyone can just get into Harvard or Yale if they want to. Only 500 people get into Yale each year.

Brian, where do you live, cuz I can tell you, in New York on WPIX, every single commercial break for every show, be it syndicated or first run, had a VD promo. And Family Guy and 2.5 Men are the stations highest rated programs. So, how could anyone miss that. As for SPN, once or twice every 3 hrs. I guess the over promotion made it a buzz kill.

I am a personal friend of Sharon Gless and even her reunion with Tyne Daly on Burn Notice which aired at the same time slot as The Mentalist, could drag me away from my favorite series. Sorry Sharon and Tyne but Simon Baker and The Mentalist took precedence even above you!!
