Thursday night, FX’s animated spy comedy, Archer was down to .873 million viewers and a .5 rating with adults 18-49. The show is fading fast from its premiere two weeks ago. Here’s the rundown:
|Date||Net||Show||18-49 Rating/Shr||Viewers (Millons)|
The numbers paint a troubling picture that speaks for itself. Down more than 50% in terms of overall viewers and down 44% with adults 18-49. At a .5 rating, that’s about 660,000 adults 18-49, and below recent primetime averages for FX in that demo (last week’s primetime adults 18-49 average for FX was 837,000 viewers).
It could be that FX is more interested in the show’s 18-34 ratings. I haven’t seen the 18-34 numbers since the premiere, but looking at the overall trends there’s no doubt that’s down as well. Last week (the show’s second episode) it was not ranked in the top 50 basic cable programs for the week with adults 18-34.
No, the numbers for last night’s episode don’t include a full week’s DVR or on-demand viewing, or any online viewing, but neither did the numbers for the first two weeks. I’ll disclaim that I have enjoyed the show so far, but the ratings trend is definitely not Archer’s friend so far.
