Take thatand Real Housewives (sorry NeNe), estimates for 2009 have the Comcast-owned E! making as much from advertising revenue as NBCU's Bravo. According to SNL Kagan estimates, ad revenue for 2009 was expected to exceed $200 million. That's only up 6 percent from 2008, but 50% from 2009.
E! fans will want to check out the coverage in Advertising Age on how E!'s approach to "home-grown talent" has paid off nicely. I'd argue many of the same things could be said about Bravo's approach, but unfortunately for Bravo, as we head towards Sunday, it's Kim Kardashian, not NeNe who will be looking for a wedding proposal from Reggie Bush if the Saints win.
