“GMA” Cuts into “Today’s” Total Viewing Lead Week to Week

“GMA’s” New Anchor Team Continues to Outperform the Season-to-Date Average Among Key Demo and Total Viewers

“GMA” Extends its Viewing Advantages Over CBS Week to Week in Both Adults 25-54 And Total Viewers – Marks the Largest Total Viewing Gap in Over a Month

For the week of January 25, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.46 million Total Viewers and a 1.6/11 among Adults 25-54.

Week to week, “GMA” increased the most among Total Viewers (+120,000) of the three morning shows. “GMA” also expanded its audience by +70,000 in the key demo.

Additionally, week to week “GMA” reduced the Total Viewing gap with NBC’s “Today” by 2%, the smallest in a month.

“GMA” had its largest Total Viewing lead (1,660,000) over CBS’ “Early Show” in over a month, (growing +5% week to week), and also extended its weekly Adult 25-54 advantage (790,000) by +18%.

During their first seven weeks, the new “Good Morning America” anchor team continues to outperform the program’s season-to-date average in both Adults 25-54, up +6% (+100,000), and Total Viewers, up +3% (+110,000). For those seven weeks, “GMA” has cut the demo gap with NBC (680,000) by -7%, which is smaller than the season-to-date average. In addition, “GMA’s” demo (720,000) and Total Viewing (1,560,000) leads over CBS’ “Early Show” are up +9% and +3%, respectively, versus the season-to-date average.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
