YES!!! MORE GOOD NEWS! This is really great night! I just came in :)

  2. Wow I feel sorry for Supernatural. At the same time I must laugh at Leno getting less viewers than a pathetic vampire teen show haha. Actually VD kicks Lenos ass.

  3. Dario

…and now there is no doubt : Community will be renewed!

  4. Daniel

What does the coverage percent mean on Supernatural?

  5. Dario

it means that CW didn’t maybe show one minute of it, or something like that…I think :D

  6. rob

Glad Vampire Diaries does well for CW. Poor Greys. I hope its the lead-in thats why it keeps decreasing slowly. I have a feeling The Deep End will be pulled. Its hurting ABCs #1 show.

Anyways im sure tonights ratings for shows will be above average due to big snowstorm.

  7. John the Mon

Hmm, so Parks didn’t beat Community, but it didn’t drop in the finals so I’m happy!

  8. bob (3)

The coverage means that some of the stations that normally broadcast SPN (CW affiliates) were showing something else, normally sports of some kind. That lowers the audience pool a little, but not very significantly, because not everyone in that 2% would have watched SPN to begin with.

  9. bob (3)

More generally speaking coverage is the % of the US where the CW or any other station is available. (I think it is the percentage of TV owning homes, not all homes, but that probably isn’t a big difference).

  10. Daniel, it means a few local stations aired something else instead of “Supernatural.” At least three stations aired men’s college basketball, North Carolina at Virginia Tech after “The Vampire Diaries.”

  11. Amanda

Shame about Supernatural, awesome episode! I’ll admit some of the episodes this season havent been so great esp last weeks ‘swap meat’ but this weeks was just epic! Feel bad for anyone who missed it! Next week (MY BLOODY VALENTINE) we get ‘cupid’ (fat naked guy who goes around hugging everyone) and the horseman of the apocolypse ‘famine’! Its supposed to be the bloodiest, most disgusting episode ever! The bloodier the better I say!

  12. Tom

The real question is how NBC can continue to waste the post-Office slot on 30 Rock when both Community and P&R are only .2 lower without the lead-in

  13. Tom

Ooops, I meant “Community and P&R are only .6″ above

  14. Dario

    I think 30 rock does solid…almost 3.0…hmmm

  15. Catiebug

Dario: I think Tom’s point is that NBC continues to coddle its awards-darling 30 Rock, by giving it the primo post-The Office time slot, when it’s been on for four years, and should have gained an audience on its own by now. Meanwhile Parks and Community have no real lead-in and are not doing that much worse than 30 Rock. Which says more for them.

And I’m with Tom. We complain so often that shows are not allowed to grow any more, but 30 Rock has had plenty of time. Let it sink or swim NBC, and use The Office to prop up something different.

  16. Mark

This is 30 Rock’s second full season in the post-Office timeslot. It’s getting decent retention, but it’s probably time to see if it can stand on its own.

Does anyone really think Community or Parks & Rec would do much better than 30 Rock at 9:30? Community briefly got a shot in October, with less than stellar results. Parks & Rec seems to be the more compatible fit, but I’m not convinced that show will ever find a solid audience.

  17. Mark

Also, it’s worth noting that the 9:00 hour is much more competitive than the 8:00 hour, so just because a show airs after The Office, it’s not automatically going to get a 3.0 in the demo.

  18. shelly

Have to agree with Mark on this one – the 9 p.m. hour is far too competitive for Community and P&R and they would get absolutely slaughtered by both Grey’s and CSI.

  19. Holly

This is 30 Rock’s second full season in the post-Office timeslot. It’s getting decent retention, but it’s probably time to see if it can stand on its own.

Didn’t it just prove that it can’t stand on its own a couple of weeks ago when they ran two 30 Rocks in the 9:00 hour an it got a 2.2?

  20. Mark

Holly, it at least proved that 30 Rock can’t stand on its own in the 9:00 hour. Clearly, 30 Rock benefits greatly from having The Office as a lead-in, but in a less competitive time slot, it could probably peform decently.
