TLC confirms that this Thursday's episode of American Chopper will be its last before riding off into the TV sunset. The series premiered on Discovery in 2003 before ultimately moving to TLC.
In a statement TLC said, "The Teutuls will always be a part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run."

Good riddance.
It jumped the shark when Jr and Sr stopped talking.
kill one reality show, and five more spring up in its place!
I stopped watching the show after it moved to TLC. I had some good memories of it though, it’s a shame
Well… it’s been great guys, I’ve enjoyed the laughs, entertainment and watching your ideas come to life, Your show helped me get through my overseas tour of duty I now own a sport “cruzer”, but I surly enjoy viewing your bikes, I had the pleasure of seeing the B-2 bike in person, your work is outstanding. I surly hope you guys work things out because money and fame comes and goes. However, family is always…thanks
I remember when “wild west” shows roamed the Earth, then it was “Space” shows. Then, and for the longest time “Cop” shows. That’s still dying off, now, slowly. Nowdays you can’t stay an entire season without a dead body and a search through phantom suspects to learn the person who did it.
But are never going to see the end of the ‘unscripted’ but well-rehearsed “reality” shows? I’m just so sick of them I could PUKE.
Honestly; even a show about modern military aviation (a key enjoyment in my life) would be something to which I’d never tune in a second time. Family/Work drama, I got. Give me the escape to a well-considered tale of another world that doesn’t have ugly people yelling at each other and/or eating bugs.
While I recognize the value of this show; there are a LOT more bikers than fighter pilots, and a lot of guys like the 1910-style motorcycles than makes sense, this served a lot of people’s interest. But I’m so tired of the worn-out theme!
Rap music is the same way. Four years of disco was far too much, but coming up on 20 years of rap just isn’t quite enough!
This sucks
I think (hope) South Park is to blame (thank) for this. Remember the episode “The F Word”? Yea! I hope it kills the whole biker sub-culture!
It’s about time. I stopped watching a long time ago. got sick of the fighting and the bikes all looked the same after a while.
The old man always wanted all the fame and was jealous of his own son–what a shame-he has basically lost his three sons because he wants everything to be about him—–Good luck Paulie
@John
Please, get over yourself.
I knew it was coming but hate to see it go. I attened the grand opening and the tenth ansv. at the world HQ and it was great. If you ever get to see the bikes up close and personal, TV does not do them justice. The guys were friendly and very accomidating. It is my hope that SR. JR. Mikey and all the Teutuls recencile their differences. Family is more important than anything else. Good luck to all the Teutuls and God Bless them all.
Good riddance, that was a ghastly show, hours of watching fat rednecks making disgusting, useless bikes… Although it was slightly better than watching tattooed idiots trying to fit 30 inch wheels on a Hummer. Bottom line, Americans should not make motoring shows…
Pix, have some tea and crumpets and shut the hell up!
Well, considering the first few seasons, they did not make the bikes, just bought the parts, put them together, welded a few cosmetic pieces on then outsourced the painting, no big loss, their name has been mud on the bike rally circuit for a number of years anyway, only the rich and the wannabe’s paid them much attention
A tool company wants us to make a bike. Fight. Ok I’ll weld a wrench to the front of it. A bulldozer company wants us to make a bike. Fight. Ok I’ll weld a plow to the front of it. Coca-cola wants us to make a bike. Fight. Ok I’ll weld a coke can to the front of it. Wash rinse repeat.
Bring on the drug relapse
It’s about time. This show was worn out and tired years ago.
I’ll admit that the first 2 seasons were slightly entertaining. The bikes were a joke, they outsourced anything that required genuine skill to created, and they simply assembled the parts in the shop. But their fights were at least funny and seemingly genuine. After all, they were still a small struggling shop that was fighting to stay afloat month after month, and they were under a lot of stress. In a dysfunctional family business, you’re gonna get some fireworks. And it was funny.
As OCC got more notoriety and the Teutels were clearly becoming bloated and wealthy, the show lost the edge. That abrasive interaction between Sr. and Jr. became soft and lazy, and the few arguments that they had really felt rehearsed. The bikes were all flash and no skill. It got boring. The show should have been retired right before it was moved to TLC.
Now, they’re fantastically wealthy and have nothing to worry about. No more grit, no edge, no nothing. The only thing that’d make the show fun to watch again is if they released unedited DVDs.
Yaaaaaay a group of idiots now gone from my TV.
They had a great run and made lots of bikes and money. Hopefully the family will mend and live their lives together.
Good Guys.
