Damages remained over the one million average viewers level for its third episode of season three and actually saw viewing increase to 1.075 million. That's up more than 5 percent versus last week's 1.022 million. That's the good news, the bad news is that just like last week it had a .2 rating with adults 18-49.
The season 3 premiere two weeks ago averaged 1.43 million and a .3 with adults 18-49.
Damages was again dominated by HISTORY's Pawn Stars at 10pm, where two thirty minute episodes averaged 4.56 million viewers and a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating.
WWE Monday Night Raw on USA was of course tops at 10pm, averaging over 5.5 million viewers with and a 2.1 rating with adults 18-49 from 10p-11:10p.

I know this is a cable channel show, but you’re right… those numbers are anemic. I’m expecting this to slide under the million-viewer mark and stay there with a 0.1 on the 18-49 crowd shortly.
Damages is getting dwarfed by Pawn Stars and wrestling. Enough said.
5% is hopeful for a show that’s hard to jump into in the middle of the season. Either people are just catching up or they just stumbled on it.
Either way it was a good episode to start off with. The flashbacks were gone and wouldn’t confuse new viewers. Plus there were some pretty shocking reveals.
How is the DVR ratngs for Damages?
Doesn’t Damages do extremely well with high income earning households?
Also, like someone else mentioned, Damages’ storyline doesn’t allow for growth in viewers so I’m surprised there was a gain of any kind.
grr- That’s relative. The ratings are still quite low for high-income, yet a great percentage of viewers who watch the show are in that income bracket.
Lotta Cadillac Product placement in Damages. Doesn’t hurt the bottom line.
Well, last season was kind of ridiculous. Especially the finale. But it’s still one of the best shows on TV.
Lotta Cadillac Product placement in Damages. Doesn’t hurt the bottom line.
At a .2 18-49 rating I figure the bottom line is red regardless of who is advertising. Either way Cadillac advertising to 1 million people isn’t nearly as helpful to the bottom line as 2 million, 3 million or 4 million viewers would be.
A shame a great actress like Glenn Close is stuck in this potboiler for 3 years. Hopefully next time she’ll play a character with at least a glimmer of a sense of humor.
@Robert Yes but integrated product placement takes on exponentially more value on a show like Damages that is heavily DVR’d.
Growth is growth, and perhaps we have the beginnings of a third season surge for ‘Damages’.
Sucks that such a unique, strongly acted and written series, can not find an audience. Essentially I believe what hurt the show was the strike, which lead to a year and a half hiatus I suppose. Also could be that season two was not as comparable with season 1, was a lot weaker, which could have turned away fans. Hopefully FX can find a way to make this series, last. One of the few that actually deserves to nowadays.

What?! This is probably one of the greatest roles she’ll ever play.
So far this season is much better than the last. More Lily Tomlin, please!
What do you all think is this issue hurting Damages? Is it because how heavily serialized it is? IMO, it’s probably one of the best produced dramas on cable. I mean yes it’s a very difficult watch and you need to pay full attention to it or you will get lost quickly.
Don, I think you hit on it. They show demands you pay attention and requires some thought to keep up with it. People like shows they can watch while they play facebook games. Shows were they can “turn off their brains” They might be smart people, but they like dumb tv/movies/etc.
Damages is one of the best shows but the almost 2 year hiatus was dreadful and many people gave up thinking it was cancelled or just disappearing….I love that it requires me to pay attention and think but that requires DVR watching, not live because I need to go back sometimes to figure out what just happened – or forget, getting up to get a drink…I could be totally lost when I return if it’s more than 2 seconds! A Must for DVR’s!! Another show that dvr’s at the second showing at 11pm.
Sadly, the first season could have gone on for at least 4 more episodes in my opinion, it was by far the best show that year and then poof! No news, no website updates, no nothing….figured it was a goner and almost missed season 2..It really deserves a good solid audience, it’s so good but I suppose it’s too much paying attention for some people.
YAY DAMAGES IS FINALLY A HIT OMGZ
I got to say I’m rooting against Damages this season as I’m hoping FX renews Archer as its ‘critically acclaimed but low rated’ charity case for next year.
