Super Bowl CAN’T TOPPLE FOX’S SEASON HIGH!

FOX is Runner-Up During Super Bowl Week, But Still Claims Top-Rated Week of the 2009-10 Season

The final audition rounds of American Idol, the winter finales of Bones and FRINGE, and strong performances by Kitchen Nightmares and the NASCAR: BUD SHOOTOUT race led FOX to a weekly rating of 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49.  Despite the strong Super Bowl performance on CBS on Sunday, FOX still claims the highest rated week of the season (8.8 rating during the week of 1/18/10, Live + Same Day). So far this season, FOX’s regular Thursday programming outperforms last year’s regular Thursday programming for the same weeks by +14% among Adults 18-49 and +51% in Total Viewers.

The nets are like the political parites, they spin EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeez FOX, you’ll get YOUR turn at the Super Bowl next year!!!!!!!!! If you take American Idol out of your lineup, you become NBC II.

  2. a.) but they DO have American Idol
b.) even if they didn’t, they’d still have HOUSE, SIMPSONS, FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD, CLEVELAND SHOW, GLEE…even an aging 24 has ratings NBC wishes it had with a scripted drama.

  3. Samuel

And don’t forget they were the only network up from last season and that WITHOUT Idol. But I guess some people still wan’t to hate Idol and Fox and wish it would fail… But guess what… They don’t care!

  4. NSFAN

You’re right…..they have a bunch of cartoons and an angry doc. Thank God for the cable nets!!!!!!

  5. NSFAN

They are up because of Football overrun and the World Series, NOT their scripted programming.

  6. Nightstar

You still get points for putting the basket in the hoop, regardless of whether the basket was a swish, bank shot, or a floater. How Fox got there is not so important to them (or any other network who reaches the summit) as the fact that they did get there. Just my 2 pennies in the fountain.

  7. UKD

I believe they were up for the year….excluding baseball. Mondays were stable with House and Lie to Me, they are better now with House and 24, Tuesdays weren’t a total loss with SYTYCD, they are now huge with Idol, Wednesdays were solid with SYTYCD and Glee, Thursdays were solid with Bones and Fringe, they ended up more than solid with the same pair at last airing, Saturday they typically lead with Cops and AMW, Sunday they have the animation shows which even in off weeks get better ratings than NBC typically gets, Fox’s only week spot is Friday and even that showed signs of life last week with Kitchen Nightmares, no FOX isn’t CBS, but they sure aren’t NBC either.

  8. MartyCrackerheads

Would someone tell the haters that FOX is a different network than the Fox News Channel (Take a deep breath…It’s OK to like Fox Programming). Should we boycott The Office and 30 Rock because MSNBC is staffed by DOUCHEBAGS?

  9. mike

Fringe is a shoe in for a 3rd season. Really don’t understand why it is a bubble show. A baffoon could see it has numbers for a renewal
