Syndicated Oprah Tops Judge Judy for 1st Time in 10 Weeks + Legend of The Seeker

Categories: '

February 9th, 2010

Fueled by guests Jay Leno and Rosie O'Donnell, Oprah topped judge Judy for the first time in ten weeks in the week ending January 31.

Legend of the Seeker Fans:  Seeker saw its second best viewer averages of the season with 2.581 million for the weekend of January 30-31. The updated table for Season two's ratings is below the normal syndicated top 25 table.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown! FansSmackdown! didn't make the top 25 (it was #30), but the telecast on January 29 averaged 3.463 million and a 2.2 household rating.

Please note that the syndicated weekly results are delayed versus normal reporting.  While we get the broadcast and cable ratings for the prior Monday-Sunday period every Tuesday, there is an extra week of lag time with the syndicated ratings and these numbers are not for last week, but for the week before last (in other words, the WWE Friday Night Smackdown! is for January 29, not February 5).

  2. Stefan

    Thanks for the SD! Numbers

  3. J.L.

    Seeker! Seeker! Seeker! Gimme more!

  4. ryan

Wow at Dr Phill being #25 behind Dr. Oz

  5. Laura

Yay for Seeker numbers being up. I agree, we want a season three! :D

  6. Flip

Robert, good news on LOTS. Thanks again for taking the extra time to keep us Seeker fans informed. We are in the middle of a big push for local stations to sign up for season 3. We have been sending letters to the program Directors.

Do you have any other advice for us that may help?

    And again, thank you.

  7. Those are awesome numbers for Legend of the Seeker!! Again, thank you as you help provide some pretty solid article content for http://www.legendseeker.net

  8. With Dr. Phil being 25, do you think it’s a matter of time before his show jumps from syn to Oprah’s network OWN?

With the fees affilliates are paying for Dr. Phil, if he isn’t bringing them in the money, why would they pay that much for him? Kind of like Martha Stewart moving her programming to Hallmark, losing Dr. Phil wouldn’t hurt affilliates now that Rachel Ray, Dr. Oz, and now Oprah’s fashion guy all have shows in syndication.

  9. DuMont

Robert, I have some household numbers that are missing from your table for ‘Legend of the Seeker’:

    Date HH
    **** **
    7-Nov-09 1.7
    14-Nov-09 1.5
    21-Nov-09 1.6
    28-Nov-09 1.6
    19-Dec-09 R 1.4

  10. Brandon

I really hope that the break this past week that Seeker had, won’t squander any ratings increase it has been seeing.

But it could have been for the Superbowl, I really don’t know.

  11. DuMont: added, thank you.

  12. Empire

Thanks again Robert for The LoTS numbers, which actually seem to be growing again every week, I’m sure last weeks repeat episode went back down, but gives me hope that it will be renewed.

  13. dydy

DuMont : where have you found these numbers for Legend of the Seeker , plizz?

  14. Cancel freaking Dr. Phil already. Obviously nobody cares about the guy

  15. Perhaps this syndicated rating page should be dedicated to Oprah…

We have mega pictures of her, some from the September New York premiere in 2008, then this week’s rating results warrant a big WOW! and more photos. What if I am a Judge Judy Fan, this was not good news for ME.

    Weird!

Obviously, considering the complete lack of comments about Oprah’s short lived revival after 10 weeks, (caused by the ‘pull all the stops’ sensasionalistic focus of her new shows this season) nobody posting here cares, maybe you should take your cue from that.

  16. I love the Seeker. It’s currnently my absolute favorite show – the only that I cannot miss for anything. It would be terrible if it didn’t receive a 3rd season, as it’s beginning to have quite the following!

    Let’s keep it going!

  17. Andy

Sweet, LOTS has been one of the best new shows over the past two years due to the complex themes it broaches. At first I thought this series was goofy, but when they had the episode where Kahlan accidentally sends an innocent man to be executed, the show completely won me over.

The last two episodes in season two have been especially well done. Hopefully they didn’t kill off Denna permanently… The actress who plays her is so good at being evil yet receiving sympathy from the audience.

  18. loredana

WE WONT THIRD SEASON OF LEGEND OF SEEKER.

  19. Emm

I just starting watching LOTS last week, and I’m hooked. I hope the fan base keeps growing. It needs a third season for sure
