Is there an end in sight for 30 Rock next year?
Supernatural won’t be renewed. It’s doing badly in the CWs key demo, and the main demo.
Robert, do you have PP and GA W18-34?
Past Life
- 5.306 million viewers
- 3.1/5 HH
- 1.4/4 A18-49
This is awful!
john the news are that supernatural will be
renewed
Well just like everyone including Fox suspected, I knew Past Life wouldn’t go anywhere, even though I enjoy the premise the series itself is not that great. Hopefully good news for Fringe.
Greys up yes!
Vampire Diaries series low?
what a shame, awesome episode last night.
Grey’s Anatomy is deserving these low numbers IMO; the show is really dull (maybe due to the lack of Katherine Heigl
John
The last two weeks of SN have certainly done poorly (for it) in adults 18-49 (about the norm for the rest of the CW), and this last week it did poor for it in adults 18-34 and w 18-34, but for the rest of the season it has stayed fairly stable. And is the only show to see growth from its performance last year in any demo group.
Now it really depends on when they make their choice. If they make them early then it should get renewed. If they wait for April or later, then how it performs (in line with the rest of the CW) during April might be a rather big factor (and of course this also depends on how those pilots actually look done).
If The CW gets some solid pilots (which it looks like they may), I don’t see Supernatural lasting till next season. It wouldn’t be the first time Dawn screwed over a show that wasn’t doing too bad but could be doing better.
I don’t know what is considered to be a “solid pilot” for The CW, but I hear they’re planning on revamping La Femme Nikita. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………
I’m pretty sure ‘Bones’ was an original episode last night, not a repeat.
I did not enjoy ‘Past Life’ at all, nor do I expect to.
As for Supernatural, I’m hoping it gets renewed. Whatever the decision, I hope it is made early, so that Kripke can proceed with his planned ending if they do decide not to renew.
Hmm, according to IMDB that episode of Bones originally aired back in November. Not sure how I missed it back then.
allan, agreed, lame lame without KH. if they want ratings to go up, she needs to become a regular again
rockmypants: solid pilot?
melrose place and TBL were considered solid too.. look at them now =)
CW will renew SPN. It will move to Friday with Smallville. Mark my words.
M-GG/OTH/LUX (like this season, I see these sharing a timeslot, especially considering how well LUX repeats)
T-LUX/90210
W-Top Model/Nikita
TH-TVD/Betwixed
F-Smallville/SPN
Midseason – Any two of (The Wyoming Project-HMS-Plymouth Rock).
Well, if the renew/cancel index is to be believed – and I’m a believer! — Supernatural is doing great by CW standards.
These past 2 weeks have been down a bit vs last year, but earlier in the season, it showed gains in the key demo A18-24 and W18-34 –its the only CW show to do so, despite a loss in overall viewers. 90210 for example is losing in viewers AND its demo numbers when compared year to year.
Right now the CW has to launch 2 – 3 new hours T,W, F at 9 without canceling anything but Melrose Place just to fill the fall schedule, nevermind any midseason replacements. How many of those pilots do you think are really going to look that great? They launched 3 this year (TBL, MP & LUX)with only moderate success with LUX.
Supernatural is a WB property and word was that WB wants it to continue — I’ll be very surprised if it isn’t renewed for season six. Especially since the two stars are contracted through next season. After next year, who knows, but for now, the roadtrip of the brothers Winchester is going to continue. And I bet it stays on Thursdays as well.
If SPN gets renewed, my guess is that it will remain on Thursdays as counter-programming against the Grey’s juggernaut.
BTW, I wonder if the CW will have a full 10 hours of original programming next season? Or will it continue to use Fri 9PM as a rerun slot?
Supernatural ratings may look really bad but its still the CW’s second highest rated show after VD! Amazingly enough these past two weeks the ratings have dropped even though they have been the two best episodes of the season!
Supernatural will be renewed and the CW are set to release press releases on early renewels for SPN, SV, VD, 90210, ANTM, GG within the next month.
OTH-might not be back due to the budget and subsequent cast cut
LUX-will most likely be brought back as a mid-season show
Melrose-will be cancelled
The CW has ordered 5 pilots for new shows-BETWIXT, an unamed horse project (which could be the Wyoming project mentioned above), La femme Nikita (these three have had full pilots ordered) HMS and Hellcats (have had 20 minute long pilots ordered) Based on this the first 3 are more likely to be picked up!
Plymouth Rock did not make it to the pilot stage!
