All-Star Saturday night featuring New York Knicks guard Nate Robinson becoming the only man to win the Slam Dunk contest three times, averaged almost 5.5 million viewers and a 3.1 national household rating.

Those were the second-best ratings in the 25 years of the event trailing only last year’s 6.55 million average viewers and a 3.9 household rating.

Considering that unlike last year, Saturday night’s event went head-to-head against NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver (which averaged 26.2 million viewers on Saturday night) TNT has to be pleased with the results.
