While we wait for Sharktopus, we have Dinoshark to help bide the time...

First look at Dinoshark:
SYFY MARCH SATURDAY ORIGINAL MOVIES FEATURE DINOSHARK, FROM CULT MOVIE LEGEND ROGER CORMAN, AND DARK RELIC, STARRING JAMES FRAIN (THE TUDORS)
New York, NY -- February 26, 2010 -- Legendary cult movie producer Roger Corman unleashes a nightmarish half dinosaur-half shark onto a resort area and James Frain (The Tudors) portrays a knight battling a murderous demon in Syfy’s March Saturday Original Movies.
In Dinoshark, airing Saturday, March 13, at 9PM (ET/PT), a lush Mexico vacation spot is terrorized by a mysterious prehistoric creature no one believes exists, except a young fishing boat captain (Eric Balfour, 24, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). To prevent a bloodbath, the captain must stop “Dinoshark” before it invades an inland waterway full of pleasure boats and swimmers. Dinoshark is produced by Roger Corman and Julie Corman.
Roger Corman, who received an Honorary 2010 Oscar, is the legendary director and producer of numerous low-budget cult classics, among them It Conquered the World, Teenage Doll, The Little Shop of Horrors, House of Usher, Pit and the Pendulum, Premature Burial, The Raven, The Masque of the Red Death, The Wild Angels and The Trip.
Corman is also credited with opening the door to a number of young filmmakers including Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, James Cameron, Jonathan Demme and Ron Howard.
Airing Saturday, March 27, at 9PM (ET/PT), Dark Relic stars Frain as a battle-weary warrior leading his men home after years of fighting. But the Holy Relic he’s carrying contains a terrible curse, which frees a bloodthirsty demon. Sir Gregory (Frain) and some unlikely allies confront this scourge from Hell to stop the spread of an unspeakable evil. Dark Relic is a production of Battle Productions, LLC.

Dinoshark? Bah! I want Shaktopus! I never thought I could would be able to say this but – I don’t want ‘another’ prehistoric shark movie. The wave of the future is ‘mutant sharks’ preferably caused by global warming or a depleted ozone layer. lol
I’ll say it again….its no “Manimal”.
SyFy “Original Movies” make me want to cry.
These type of movies are what gives SyFy a bad name. They’re not even good B type movies.
Looks like a big lake sturgeon – http://www.seagrant.wisc.edu/greatlakesfish/Graphics/Shedd_LakeSturgeon.gif
That was awesome! I know what I will be doing Saturday night March 13th.
Get the popcorn going with lots of butter.
Go Eric Balfour, Go Roger Corman.
Takes me back to
Chiller Theater with Chilly Billy Cardille.
Now you all know where grew up.
They need to keep these coming. There are a bunch of things they haven’t mated yet to produce “scares” (meaning, super corny movies that you just HAVE to watch).
I have an idea for one, and fully expect to be paid for this idea: King Cobroodle (have King Cobra, half poodle) – imagine the terror!!!
“CIMMER” Dude Sharktopus That is frieking hilarious really. It’s just a matter of time right? These movies are so bad that they’re just bad & not in the good/bad way either. I always figure that the actors they get who are good in other things just want to continue working no matter how bad it is. But who knows why they do these garbage films.
This is nothing new. Long before Sci/Fi became “SyFy” the “Sci/Fi Channel Original” tag was a sure sign of a truely crappy movie. Anyone who watches these premarked stinkers is getting exactly the level of horrible entertainment that they want. It is sad that SyFy devotes so much of its schedule to such swill.
So look for the SyFy Original label and be assured that the show will disappoint and disgust you.
