Burn Notice's third season finale topped all cable for the night with 4.32 million and a 1.6 rating for adults 18-49. Down slightly from last week, at least in viewers when it had 4.5 million and a 1.6 rating with the 18-49 crowd. But it was down noticeably from last year's season two finale on March 5, 2009 when it averaged 6.09 million viewers and a 1.9 rating. That's down almost 16% with adults 18-49, and 29% with total viewers.
Archer fans, here's an updated table, I've decided only to do first run episodes, and last week was a repeat so it isn't listed:
| Date | Net | Show | 18-49 Rating/Sh | Viewers (Millons) |
| 14-Jan-10 | FX | Archer | .9/2 | 1.824 |
| 21-Jan-10 | FX | Archer | .7/2 | 1.230 |
| 28-Jan-10 | FX | Archer | .5/1 | 0.873 |
| 4-Feb-10 | FX | Archer | .4/1 | 0.620 |
| 11-Feb-10 | FX | Archer | .3/1 | 0.760 |
| 18-Feb-10 | FX | Archer | .4/1 | 0.868 |

because of the way they split seasons, the wait will not be long. Early June at the latest I’d guess.

Although the winter was down from past winter seasons, I wouldn’t be surprised to the summer split of S4 improve greatly over last summers numbers. To me that’s when BN truly shines — when people who stick to network shows during the winter can focus more time with shows like this. I hope the numbers improve this summer because I love this show and love knowing by the end of summer each year that it already has another season planned.

Archer down a bit in total viewers but steady in the demo.

I have a feeling that we will see another season of Burn Notice after Season 4, so hopefully, if USA wants to maximize its viewers, they should have original scripted shows during the 9 0 clock hour with Burn Notice at 10. This is where they should put White Collar together with Burn Notice.

Great episode great ending. Itll shine once again during the summer imho and to me this indicates the mentalist is taking a slice of burn notice fans away.

What’s leading to the decline, some mindless reality show opposite it getting better ratings like what’s going on with Damages?

I gotta say, I’m shocked the number dropped from last week. The Thursday competition is fierce, but you don’t expect to see a lower total number for a finale than what Burn Notice would pull for a “regular” episode.
I know Marriage Ref somehow drew more than 8 million viewers on NBC, and The Mentalist had more than 15 million on CBS … but some folks at USA have gotta be shaking their heads.
I fully expect to see the numbers jump this summer, but I can’t help but feel some of this is a residual effect from BN having a somewhat ho-hum back end of the season. I’ve had quite a few people comment to me that it lost its “appointment viewing” status over the last six weeks, and the Live+7 numbers would seem to indicate the show is leaning toward that trend.

I really liked Burn Notice early on, but it was hit and miss for me last season and this season. Maybe it’s me, I’ve felt that way about 24 and Lost too the last couple of seasons. The episodes just don’t hold my interest like they used to. But I’m still interested enough in Burn Notice to watch the first episode when it comes back.
