Caprica Ratings Rise for "Know They Enemy"

Friday's Caprica saw its first .5 rating with adults 18-49 since the first telecast after the two hour pilot ("Rebirth") on January 29.  It was also the highest average viewer totals since that episode.  The numbers are still on the small side, even for Syfy, but up is up.

Caprica Season 1 ratings:

Date Episode 18-49 Rating Viewers (millions)
22-Jan-10 Pilot 0.4 1.602
29-Jan-10 Rebirth 0.5 1.411
5-Feb-10 Reins of a Waterfall 0.4 1.128
19-Feb-10 Gravedancing 0.4 0.976
26-Feb-10 There Is Another Sky 0.4 1.127
5-Mar-10 Know They Enemy 0.5 1.155
12-Mar-10 The Imperfections of Memory
19-Mar-10 Ghosts in the Machine
26-Mar-10 End of Line

This week it at least beat Spartacus: Blood and Sand (.4 rating with adults 18-49 and .97 million viewers) on Starz.  But I still feel like it ought to be beating it like a lot more since Starz is in about 75 million fewer homes than Syfy.

I wish the ratings were higher is a very well written show. The acting is fantastic, love Sister Clarice the Bong Queen, she’s just too crazy. I think the story is unfolding wonderfully. I can’t wait for next week. People should give this a try, it’s different and entertaining.

Love Caprica, the ratings though will always be meager. As they were for BSG for the last 2 years or so.

Nice! I wish Caprica gets renewed. It is critically acclaimed and simply a superb series, in my opinion so far superior to both SGU and BSG. It succesfully mixes drama elements with sci-fi and keeps me on my toes for a week after each episode.

Even though ratings aren’t really brilliant, I hope Syfy stands behind their words and are in it for a long haul with Caprica. Long haul being at least two seasons, preferrably three or four.

…and the craptacular ratings continue. This DALLAS IN SPACE is DOA. Stick a fork in it. Science fiction/fantasy fans don’t want to watch friggin’ soap operas.

Watched the previous 4 episodes in the middle of the night while sick and enjoyed them. Hope it gets a second season.

Actually, that’s entirely untrue. I’d be happy to watch a well-written sci fi/fan soap opera… the problem here has been the pacing, not the soapy aspects.

I concur that it had a slow start but it is really picking up now. The dramatic irony of how these experiments on all sides will (re)create the Cylons is amping up nicely.

I hope it survives long enough to pay off. It is interesting that tamping down the sci-fi elements would make it more accessible but it seems to have done the opposite.
