TNA Impact moved to Monday nights starting last night, competing head-to-head directly with WWE Raw from 9p-11p (actually I think TNA ran until 11:08p last night) but in the 9p-11p portion RAW crushed TNA by 274 percent in total viewers, by 226 percent in adults 18-49 and by 275 percent in total viewers.
| 18-49 (000) | 25-54 (000) | Total Viewers (000) | |
| RAW | 2,586 | 2,455 | 5,103 |
| TNA | 692 | 753 | 1,361 |
For purposes of comparison the Monday January 4 test (8p-10p) of TNA did 2.03 million in total viewers and 1.18 million adults 18-49.

And next week Steve Austin, the WWE biggest tv ratings draw of all time, returns. Hulk Hogan put Time Warner owned WCW out of business with his nonsense and i think he can do the same for TNA.

With all the promotion, all the hype, all the big names, all the surprises, all TNA could do was a 1.0?
Just to think, they are preparing to tape next week’s episode right now so spoilers will be available for almost a full week. Stone Cold returns to WWE to go head-to-head with a pre-taped TNA show.
They should be scared looking at this number. They can’t recreate this hype every single week. It’s going to be downhill from here on.

This is not a failure for TNA impact! Half the people on this site know nothing about wrestling. Did Hogan say that TNA would beat the WWE in the ratings from the start. NO! Did he say it would take several months even years… yes! This was the right move. RAW is in Wrestlemania season. Usually RAW puts up around 6 million viewers and between a 3.7-4.0 rating during the March/April months. They barely got over 5.0 mill viewers, and demos were down. Demos were up on the iMPACT show, even though viewers were down.
IMPACT will eventually gain viewers, but they are just putting their name out there now. This was a bold move to move to Mondays during Mania’ season, but is was also smart. The last two weeks RAW recieved ratings of a 3.7 and 3.8 with over 5.5 mill viewers. iMPACT had ratings of a 1.14 and 1.2 the last two weeks and had an average audeince of 1.5 million viewers. Who took the worst hit… RAW. So do not count iMPACT out yet. They will build a bigger audience. The purpose of the move is so when RAW is bad for the night, people switch to iMPACT. And that happened if you look at the quarter hours for the shows. They are posted at gerweck.net.
Just wanted to make my point before a hundred people come on here saying that TNA is dead, and will never do anything ever again. Be objective and look at it with an open mind. And you probably would have never guessed this, but I am a WWE fan, not a TNA fan.
I have no doubt that WWE will beat TNA every week this year, badly. What else can you expect when TNA’s main show ratings equal to WWE’s jobber “D” show, Superstars.
What I’d really like though, is for Smackdown to move to a REAL network, maybe NBC. Lot of potential for an inexpensive 2 hour show with no reruns that brings in an audience on Friday nights.

I think with Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy in TNA, there may be some anticipation for next week’s Impact. That’s a pro but the con is that it’s taped and Stone Cold Steve Austin is hosting RAW next week.
Austin/Hogan,Austin/Hogan!!!
